Hey guys…well i recently(4months ago) joined navy so it caused me to be away from my pc so now im buying a laptop.Main reason is for gaming, WoW, starcraft, and mix of other games so heres a list of some laptops ive got please tell me which would be best both price wise and quality
that is the best one you listed but you can get it at a lower price. also 100gb is a small amount of drive space i would think about getting that but with a 160 or 200gb drive… unless u have an external
If you want a gaming laptop, I can recommend a few brands: Alienware, Dell, and Toshiba. Given your mobile lifestyle, go get a Panasonic Toughbook or any of the military-spec laptops.
But any laptop with lots of HD space, RAM, a good GPU, and a Pentium- or Celeron-class processor will do. AMDs are good, but I am scared it won’t run my Street Fighter Alpha 2 for PC (since it says it needs a Pentium processor), as well as a few legacy games. I dunno if it’s true. Forget the cheaper VIA-based laptops, because they suck at 3D.
Don’t forget the looks as well.
Currently I run PC versions of Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Samurai Shodown II (the rest are emulators) on a Toshiba Portege 4000 P3 750. The graphics chip sucks (it can’t do full-screen outside of Windows), but it can run my games pretty well…
alienware suck…why would u recommend them lol… toshiba was good but now its a toss up… i would buy a dell xps if i had the money but look for a intel processor( i have a 3.0 or 3.4 i cant remember ) 2gb of ram and a big ass hd lol
also,
Squeeze in as much RAM as possible. If you have a spare SIMM slot, put in the largest-capacity module you can find. You may have to throw away what’s already in there–likely a 16MB module–and replace it with a 32MB or 64MB one. Memory was so expensive five years ago that vendors often skimped on it, but now that prices have plummeted, you should pack in as much as possible. (You may also look around for a chip doubler–a SIMM two-for that lets you put a pair of chips where there’s only room for a single.)
