this is meant to be complimentary -you know, when i posted that, i had you in mind because you were making me think about the situation a lot and I wondered if you’d read it.

the ruling bodies are corrupt without question, i don’t dispute that. i think that without real hard evidence against lance they shouldn’t have stripped his titles.
i just don’t think for a second he’s innocent. without a confession or something concrete, we’ll never know for sure; just have to make up our minds and agree to disagree.
innocent or guilty though, it’s outrageous he’s getting hunted like this, and so much hostile attention. lance has made a lot of enemies - with his attitude, his behavior, his personality, his success.
everyone doping, and you go after lance like a shark? ridiculous.
if they’re serious about cleaning up the sport (impossible), they need to just wash the slate and leave things in the past the way they are. a reconciliation and commitment to clean riding, whatever. everyone admits it was ubiquitous and everyone gets equal treatment.
it’s ridiculous to target the top successful guys because they’re more visible. it gives it the strong appearance of spite. cycling is so dirty that making examples is just petulance.
Nah, kids are better equipped to handle these grown up, grumpy old man stuff. If they ever pay attention to it at all.
I think he inspired plenty of kids so far to try to beat cancer. Even if they never beat it, then win French guy corrupt races, and get blackballed for being the winner of the race. It happens to every winner of that race. 2nd place, 3rd place too. All they wanted to do was have hope that they could beat something unfairly taking away years from their lives. Forget the able bodied kids who respect a bike race winner who aren’t going to ride a bike in their lives, Lance has done plenty for the downtrodden, didn’t deserve it, kids.

Now some of us might respect him more if during his vacation with GWBush during wars and Hurricane Katrina (maybe,forgot the dates on that and where Bush was a few days after the hurricane touched down), he stood up for what he claimed he believed in, instead of doing lite cardio with the president, being a lapdog and keeping his mouth shut.

so his sponsors have all cut ties with him. I thought as long as he gets to keep all the money he’s made from cycling he has nothing to worry about but now the UCI, USADA and the French government are going to make sure he pays everything back.
Well unless the entire cycling world is out to get him, the evidence both scientific and accusatory wise is just too insurmountable at this point to deny.
Just wish they went through these lengths to go after every other cyclist because they all dope too.
Not saying I know the results either way, but if people, especially your own teamates were all conspiring against you, that’s a pretty big emotional blow. When no one seems to be on your side, there’s only so much willpower can do.
It’s the same way innocent people get coerced into confessions when under interrogation, simply by the constant volleys of accusations with no mental reprieve.
Although I believe the hype, you can never doubt the power of haterade. Still, I wish the whole doping thing would end. I mean, what? So-n-so put chemicals into his or her body to gain speed/power/shin shoryuken/etc. I say be honest about the shit and if the other non-doping contestants want to try their hand knowing what’s up, then let them. Make a X-Leauge or something where anything goes. Do the damn thing already.

Lance was the only top 10 tour de france rider in the last 15yrs to not test positive for doping. thats why his Tour de France wins havent been awarded to the runner-ups.
armstrong popped positive at least once and produced a backdated scrip for a cortisone cream for saddle sores; it wasn’t in the health log though (because it was obviously backdated)
