Laminating Art

I know this has already been discussed but I couldn’t find the posts in the search function. I laminated some art yesterday, matte print, gloss lamination. I cut the buttons out after everything was printed and laminated. the art was printed on 350g card stock and it bubbled like crazy. 10 gbp down the drain. So anyone know what went wrong?

Print it on lamilabel

Card stock is for when it will be under plexi, the plexi acts as the lamination layer.

Alright i see. So it was the card stock. GOing to try again with some friggin normal paper.

yeah you can’t laminate something that thick

24# paper should be just fine.

Luckily my first attempt worked perfectly, I didn’t know what to ask for exactly for my SE stick so I just asked them for a 8.5x11 label paper. They gave me Xerox brand so I printed then had them laminate it. Aside from the odd expressions hearing that I wanted to laminate something on label paper, the print looks great.

It may have just not sealed good in the OP’s case all the air pockets are right where the button holes are. Maybe if the lamination was hotter or something it could have sealed better. Or maybe the print needed more time to dry. Lots of things could have contributed to the problem.

The lamilabel seems to be the most trouble free way to go though.
