So, I was thinking about success and how it would be connected to experience, reactions, skill and lag, and decided to post this test from pingtest.net. Post your results.
perfect connection for me.
Your ping to w/e major servers there are will not determine how your actual in-game, individual player experiences will be.
do you know how lag “works”, especially in a p2p game?

guess what? SF4 is still horrible online even with this connection. these tests are totally irrelevant.

I don’t see how this lag test has anything at all to do with my online SF experience.
Guess what, it doesn’t.
What I wanna know is if there is a way I can universally ban Mexico region in general from all my online games? I can play people from France, the UK, even Japan in some cases, and there’s no lag or hiccups, or any ping shenanigans. Let somebody from Mexico up in that bitch, and in team online games everybody start teleporting like Goku on crack spamming shunkunaido, you’re getting killed by the invisible man, and shit you try to pick up just disappears as you reach for it. In fighters, then everything gets better when they quit. In fighters, these are the annoying asshats that KEEP showing up in lobbies with their red connections.
yeah it has nothing to do with FGD directly
26 ms with 3 jitter bitches!
Not that it matters that much anyway.
49ms
Hmm, I just rediscovered this thread - I find it strange that it was moved from the SFIV section. I find it even stranger that it’s moved into the XBox section, since I’ve never even played an SF game on any Microsoft system!
Can an admin move this into the PS3 section? Or else back into SSFIV where it belongs?
ping: 17ms
packet loss: 0%
jitter: 1ms
Still I get terribly laggy matches unless i’m playing people that I know and live nearby AND have a good connection
Hmm, I recently moved, and this roughly doubled the distance to my exchange, and yet my ping was improved by about 10 ms. Having said that, I’m still only 1 km from the exchange…
For the record, the average (median) reaction time for the whole world is 215 milliseconds, and from data previously collected on this board, SF players have the same average reaction time.
here is my ping test result. i got it from here whoisxy.com
