Like me i wanted to make one from dj.mp air tatsu where if they backdash ex tatsu catches that ass or dive kick to tatsu or iat based on opponents choice and i guessed and came w some sick tech on my channel…i was overcomplicating it before as well
Yeah, it took me a while not to focus on whether or not the OS would come out but after a while I just had to train myself.
I also wanted to adopt that dj.mp, tatsu setup just based off the trickiness off the whole thing. The only loophole in the setup is that if the person crouches on wakeup the mp will whiff and ex tatsu will come out. Now, you wouldn’t think anyone would crouch on a jump in but I catch so many people with my safe jump command dive kick its not even funny. Its an amazing setup the dj.mp one because the chip does just as much damage as the hit AND people tend to want to crouch it after they’re blocking the tatsu so they end up eating crazy chip damage and then a tatsu hit LOL…but shit man, they crouch and we’re dead.
I know it will still hit Gief, Seth, Hawk…big characters crouching but the timing is way strict.
also while they’re blocking high getting chipped, the second they hit down trying to get lower, they’ll get hit by it getting full hit of that tatsu on top of the chip. seems like that IAT has to be blocked high. i haven’t labbed this up but i’m saying this because while i was playing vs a couple of the goukens here i got hit with that bullshit lol

I’m saying that if the mp whiffs, tatsu would come out. Are you saying don’t do the tatsu and OS kongo or cr.tech? Then what would be the initial setup? A safe jump mp…and thats it?

But the whole point of the setup is you do the safe jump mp, tastu. If it hits you get the mp into air tatsu. If it whiffs you get ex tatsu or reg tatsu (whichever you pressed). Thats amazing. The issue with that is that many many many many many times I jump in and people crouch. That means the mp will whiff and tatsu will come out and we die. So takin was saying OS kongo but I dont understand…the OS comes out if the initial move whiffs…but if the mp whiffs, tatsu will come out irregardless of if you input kongo afterwards. You cant OS two things is what Im saying. Well you CAN but not in this case.

so here he does ex tatsu after the mp, but if the opponent doesn’t do anything the tatsu wont come out, my biggest concern is how to do the imputs, is it mp (ex tatsu) to Cr hp hado??? this is were i struggle the most!!
Alright, here the trick is that you have to input the ex tatsu in the cl.st.mp’s recovery. Every move has recovery. Lights have short recovery, heavy’s have long recovery. The inputs are cl.stmp, ex tatsu, cr.hp, hado.
You input the ex tatsu in the mp’s recovery frames. The trick to this is that the mp has to be meaty. Meaty meaning that the active frames of the mp are exactly on your opponents wakeup frames. You do the mp then do the ex tatsu and go right into the cr.hp and catch the two frame link. You’re gonna have to go into training. If you do the tatsu immediately you will get cl.st.mp, ex tatsu and it will be a combo. You have to wait a slight tad before you do the tatsu and do it in the recovery frames, this way the move will not combo (because you’ll be in recovery which is parallel to being in something like block stun) and if the mp whiffs (backdash or invincible move) ex tatsu will come out. But you need to continue on with cr.hp, hado so if the mp does not whiff (they stand there) you get cm.st.mp, cr.hp, hado.
