 … poor cammy.
oh please
i believe theres jump hk unblockable on cammy too.
Yup, its not practical though.
why is that
Because the spacing for it is really tight so if you mess up you whiff the jhk because your pretty much trying to cross up with jhk
ok.
I just found some setup for reset after focus crumple on Ibuki. When the crumple occurs, point blank, just do cr.MP, cr.LP, cr.MP, HK Rekku. Rekku will cross up and you know the rest… Some things to remember :
So yeah, not the best stuff but can be useful if your opponent is a bit sleepy. It also works on Cammy but with cr.LK instead of LP but spacing is kinda strict. Could be working on other characters, didn’t try yet.
Ok did I completely miss the post where two half circles K + P is Flame kick cancelled into Super?! lol
I can honestly say after these years of playing Fei I never new it was such a simple input. It’s like unmissable. Seems you can snag 3 hits of the super if you use lp. Total styling points but still, something else!
I was watching Fuudo the other day use this as a finisher so I thought I’d lab it and boom, easy as pie with the shortcut. You learn something new everyday huh!!

Viper Okizeme. Safe pressure and maintains positioning if feinted on.
Back plinking is something I’ve never looked into and probably should have. When you say you turned KKK into throw , wouldn’t it be easier to just wire select to the first button and shift all your buttons to the right, or you use pad?
Awesome video by the way, the editing is top notch and your info is spot on as you always are. Great stuff.
I use a Fighting Edge, so I don’t have to rewire anything and can just bind any of the non-coloured buttons to Back. If it was on PS3 I could rebind anything. Being able to back plink the throw input isn’t that important; it’s more about the technique of performing a risk-free crouch tech input, and then a second one about 7 frames later to cover delays. Getting the plinked throw does increase your chances of hitting the pre-tech frames but it’s not massively important.
If you wanted to plink the throw input without back plinking, you could use any other button such as HK so the hand positioning and technique is easier, or MP so you at least do a first frame CR.MP in case you are too late on the timing. It doesn’t matter which button you use to plink it as you’re in either blockstun, landing recovery or knockdown recovery; the normal wouldn’t come out anyway if timed right.
To be honest, I could rewire and shift it all across but it’s not massively difficult to just change my hand positioning when on defence.
I plink throw with jab sometimes when I’m playing Sagat since it’s his fastest normal, Fei not so much. I only picked up on that from momochis channel. The amount of tech in this game is vital I think. Fundamentals only seem to get you so far.
Inverse teching (cr.LP ~ cr.LP + cr.LK) is good but the inherent risk is too high for it be massively useful. Characters like Sagat that can cancel their jab into a safe special and then confirm into more damage with FADC afterwards make it worth the risk, or anyone with plus frames on block from their 3f jab so they can wrestle control of the situation. If you were to do it with Fei, you might as well just do first frame stand jab just for the plus frames and forego the tech or inverse tech into EX Rekka.
Fundamentals are always vital, it’s just that this version of the game has too much random unreactable stuff that leads into massive damage.
I heard Zhi on commentary mention that they are taking the back plinking out of the PS4 version. I wonder what other goodies they will change.
That’s a fairly big change for the top end players that have been using it consistently for a few years. That is if they make PS4 a tournament standard. I’m thinking about taking the plunge on that version since I know only play exclusively on PC, but own a PS4.
hmm tried to do the trade ultra that nev did… no success
Are the inputs like an OS? Is it a fast input like close fierce super or do I do it slow? – would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks
It’s an OS.
When inputting EX Rekka after cl.HP, you should always do it:
qcf + PPP qcf + PPP
If it doesn’t trade, it’s safe anyway and easy to stop at the second rekka. If it hits, happy days - hold that CH damage. If it trades, excellent - hold that Ultra. It’s fairly lenient. I didn’t hit the reversal timing after the trade and it still combo’d so it sounds like an execution issue.
That reminds me; another bit of tech from a while ago:
Tech Pushback, and how Fei’s throw tech anim is the best in the game.
