I didn’t read the whole thread on ijji, but i wasn’t trying to say you suck. I just found it silly you brag about your wins, when about 98% of the people playing in the pubs had no idea how to play. But if that’s what you’re into, then so be it. Have fun:tup:
I’ve been keeping my eye on all that trouble your causing over there
That’s a pretty good gym idea though, didn’t know that was your intent. All of those people arguing over who was the better fighter are kinda silly though. The beta was only open for 10 days or something. Playing someone on day 7 and then again on day 10 were completely different experiences because there was so much to learn. Keep doing what your doing over there though, it’s been a large source of entertainment for me the past few days :wgrin:
EDIT: Jesus, someone must have pulled out the defibrillator or something. This thread just came alive and fast ^^
You joined too late man, didn’t you hear, your join date = skill level. Just playin’.
I didn’t get to play you, but you had to be a badass if you picked judo.
I mean, only the Judo players were badasses anyway “Me included”.
I jumped on this when it came out too and still want to play it.
We still need a leader for our gym and I still stand by the name “Cobra Kai”!
The world didn’t revolve around that room, and there were great players outside of it and you still do not even realize it by naively saying 98% of people were clueless about their characters and KwonHo. That’s incredibly shallow.
And yes, Judo represent. The thugs of CB, what other people did, we did harder and with more flash.
Here’s what i heard/saw while watching random pub matches:
i saw people using one button/mashing out the same strings over and over, even though the strings were unsafe. An example would be TK’s PPPK string. Heard people complain about: crouching, blocking, throwing, using crouching attacks and combos. That’s what the majority of the CB consisted of. Everyone else knows it except for you, but maybe it’s because you feel a need to justify the padding of your record from all the scrub hunting you did.
Not too mention, there were a few people outside of SRK that were invited into the room on a few occasions, because they were actually pretty decent or wanted to really learn how to play. I think glory invited one guy who he was training, or maybe it was someone else. But fact of the matter is that the room was open if you knew the password, it’s not like we’d kick you out. The only time we asked anyone to leave, is if they lagged with everyone in the room and i think that only happened to 1 person.
So it is I who am clueless?
I think you’re just being hard headed. You see, you say people did the same things over and over in pubs, I say those few I did fight from SRK did the same things, only they weren’t as commonly done. The move set was not all that diverse, so your point there is moot.
I’m not justifying my record. I know I earned easy wins and hard wins during the course of it. Records are meaningless because you can have a insanely good record and theres one skilled kid in a tourny who can come along and humble you. I maintained a level req when I would go pubbing, i’d only fight people 8 or above for posterity and for the general challenge. Of those people I’d come across good ones, bad ones, and great ones.
You highly underestimate the potential of people out there, but that’ll be your downfall, not mine. Just because you ran into nothing but amateurs and weren’t selective in who you fought when you observed pub battles doesn’t mean we all were.
Not hard headed just pointing out facts. The people i played/watched kept doing PPP or the same unsafe string the whole match. Even when they were punished, they kept doing it. Now that’s very different from using the same 4-5 strings, while canceling and trying to go into another string. That’s a totally different mindset which you choose to ignore for some reason. Limiting yourself to playing people lvl 8 and above makes no sense because lvl means aboslutely nothing. All it means is that you’ve played a lot of matches, it doesn’t attest to you lvl of skill.
It actually does mean something to limit yourself to someone level 8 or above because that was around when you’d have a fair amount of experience in the game. They may still be newbies, but they’re more seasoned. The mindset wasn’t that drastically different behind reptition, it was all easy to figure out because as I said, lack of diversity. Defense and awareness was the crucible in my opinion.
hey hey I have a fact!!! THE GAME ISNT OUT YET! boooooooooo
All this theory fighter shit is annoying.
Ijji forums are riddled with pseudo-intellectuals, otaku, and fatties.
Die.
Neo, are you going to join the SRK Cobra Kai gym when it opens?
I swear everytime someone posts in this thread i think the game is out =(
I plan to…why?
Want…to play… so badly…
Want…to beat Neosyphenx…so badly…
damn i didn’t no this game was still around =o
is it still free? can I still use my old characters from the beta?
Nope.
And yes, it’ll still be free. But there are special premium items which you can buy.
