Since people are hung up about the yun chun and yun mak discrepancy here is his summary of these match ups.
Yun chun
Yuns normals don’t reach chun because of her small hitbox. Yuns normals can’t beat a lot of chuns normals so yun can’t build gauge as easily, and even when going to throw her she will walk back making throw whiff. Yun has a hard time high jumping away from the corner because of chuns headstomp. When not in genei jin chun is yun has the hardest time fighting chun (compared to yun fighting other characters outside genei). Even if yun has genei Jin, he cannot activate it easily because of chuns sa2. Even when he activates genei jin, chun can pose a threat with her kara throw and fast cr lp, and at mid range pose a huge threat with her cr mk, leading to yun having to deal with risk even in genei jin.
Yun mak
It’s slightly in yuns favor because genei Jin resets into zenpo is extremely effective with its meter return and damage. However makoto can trade or punish yun building meter with cr mp so he cannot build meter easily. Furthermore, yun has low stamina and one hit into seichu yields huge damage, in theory this match up should be a good fight.
Makoto went from 7th (Unblockables) to 4th (No Unblockables)
btw does he actually mean version B or is he just saying that if Urien/Oro chose not to use unblockables this is what the matchup chart would look like? for instance Kuroda himself chooses not to use Unblockables because he considers them “boring”
Yang is much better at stunning than Necro, and seems to get better damage, or maybe that’s just a placebo effect of his moves not having 8 years of startup. Dudley doesn’t need to always stun. Obviously they know better than me, but like…I never see Necro in videos, and when I do he loses horribly? Whatever,
with the way kuroda plays i think he probably doesn’t feel yang is too amazing because he’s so technically skilled and understands the parry/attack game so well. i think if you’re not so great technical ability wise, yang is a lot scarier than if you are.
so you have to take that into account. i think also necro’s return on stun is bigger than almost any character. he has big meterless combos.
its a negligible ‘tier’ distinction anyway, that’s why they’re all in ‘A’.
necro is strong. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play him really well cause of how stylish he is, but it’s too much work and I never liked slow characters.
tamu and konitan (or yakkun) are better / smarter necros
tamu’s ground game / poking game in particular is second to none
konitan’s not bad at all but sugiyama…man,i think he has always been over-rated,imo
i feel rather strongly about this issue, haha
ikeyama is another good necro !
i mean…at some point in 2005,we all thought ksk was the sickest alex in japan…then we discovered the truth
no,i am not implaying that sugiyama is like ksk = the laughing stock of the japanese 3s community
poor ksk
necro is weird. a lot of what he does seems innocuous and then he backthrows or post parry combos you into the corner and you’re in trouble.
it’s slow pressure.
and yeah he can’t be hyper aggressive. he’s not built for it. he doesn’t need it either.
he just walks around interrupting any offense you’re trying to build and then you end up cornered and he fucks you.
