Yeah, you can’t do that at all on OE… It took me about a minute in FBA to do it… wow, so just a df+RH crosses up on arcade/emu only against P2, but it doesn’t on OE, that’s weird.

One sj Fierce, or 2, or even a kick… didn’t matter, the df+RH crossed up each time. I thought I was going mad trying it so much on OE. By far the longest I’ve played Chun, lol

I guess it’s the same on PS2 version then.
Someone should mail this OE glitch to IG.

Anyway, i recorded it but i don’t think it’s that useful now we know about that difference between OE/arcade…

IG probably can’t do anything about that, most likely because it’d be a “glitch” that favors P1 over P2. Something I doubt Microsoft/Sony would allow. (Someone should try just the raw df+RH cross-up in the corner on PS3 OE)

So the likely outcome would be either they add it for both sides, or not at all.

Either way, mailing them about it shouldn’t hurt.

EDIT: I should have said before that I also tried the cross-up on OE in arcade mode and VS. from both P1 and P2 side. Those attempts obviously failed…

It appears that this P1 trick works against every character on FBA…

This doesn’t cross up on 990608 aka revB. So if OE was based on that (or dreamcast) then that’s why it’s not working.

it works on OE esn. and ps2.

Koushun was always my favorite Chun. He was always the aggressive, flashy one. Saving something for 7 years with such a commonly used character like Chun Li is insane. I wouldn’t be able to hold something that long.

This is going off topic but the only player side differences I’m aware of are

  1. 1p ken as said in that post. (However mopreme didn’t mention that 1p ken is in general more tricky in other post jinrai mix ups.

  2. ken can back throw chun Into his own corner for some cross up into corner tricks (pretty sure not limited to just 1p)

  3. yun can toward or back throw twins + remy into his own corner and cross up dive kick.

  4. yang can back throw twins + remy into his own corner for dive kick cross up.

(Maybe the twins trick also work on q/ibuki etc?

I don’t know if this has been said but mov did lightning legs and that pulled him out of the corner.

I don’t see what’s so hard about this besides timing the late fierce punches in the air.

p1 + oldtype = no cross up
p2 + oldtype = cross up
p1 (and p2) + newtype = cross up

I’ve tried on both sides with the same results. Did newtype fix it for p1?

I can’t test on emulator right now but in OE:

1p ken can

In his own corner:
back throw chun -> jump cross up
Forward throw chun -> jump cross up
back throw chun (quickstand) -> dash twice ground cross up
back throw chun (only on chun quickstand) -> dash uoh cross up

In opponents corner:
ken can only do the Forward throw jump cross up
Ken CAN back throw jump cross up ONLY IF chun does quick stand

2p ken:
can back throw -> jump cross up only in his corner.
Can toward + throw -> jump cross up in both corners.
can back throw -> dash twice ground cross up in his own corner.
can back throw -> dash once uoh into corner (both corners with quick stand, only his own corner when non quickstand)

Also worth mentioning that no matter what toward + throw jump into corner never works if chun quickstands.

ESN can anyone use your site to record things like that or just you? I have something I want to try.

Of course, everyone can.
Problem is the full process is kinda heavy, with LUA scripts, files to rename/merge/process with PHP (locally not on server), and finally store properly where it needs to.
I don’t care about sharing all of this but i can’t give support on how to install apache/php/mysql and make it work, too much work for both ends.

The easiest way is how we did with Telesniper with double fukiage combo: recording combo inputs using fba-rr and send file to me so i can replay it on my pc and record frames data and screenshots.
Event better, if you’re familiar with macrolua and have already writen your combo with it, just send me the text file (or simply the macro code) and the corresponding savestate (or if not too specific, how to place chars).
