Korean sticks [web: stick.pe.kr], experience?

my byoac post:P

The Korean joysticks do not use the spring only rubber ring. Smillar how Wico and MCA

They have very smooth movement - very comfortable. They are good to fighter but they are not suitable to shmups and platform (long throw), 8way mode only:( Unfortunately they are not precise, centre to center unequatly. The mistake of measurement carries out until max2mm because joysticks are not precise ( rubber ring).

manufacturers:
CROWN
Crown Joystcik are worse qualitatively from Sanwa or iL but better from Chinese :laugh2: - copies differ, small mistakes in constructions, you can buy 4 and every will act differently (different strength of rubber ring), crapy microswitches…
If you will buy Korean joystcik on DECO microswitches - alter microswitches! DECO is crap. I recommend Gersung or Omron V series They on omron act a lot better!

CWL302 - I am not sure real names this joystick I think that this CWL302, nicely executed, it acts similarly how JLW (J-stick) - korean copy, this only korean model which has not rubber ring. Full spring Action. I do not command him he has not no advantages in playing. JLW is better. Produce is stoped! (white crow)

rotation = square
throw = angle - 11 degree; travel - 13mm
engage = angle - 7 degree; travel - 8mm
diagonal = range 20 degree; hitting 80%
force to engage = 0,44kG

CWL303 - similar to Fanta, very soft, my disastrous diagonals, it was it been possible to improve - bend lever microswitches.

rotation = circle
throw = angle - 13 degree; travel - 14mm
engage = angle - 8 degree; travel - 9mm
diagonal = range 20 degree; hitting 66%
force to engage = 0,17kG

CWL304 - joystick on leaf switches. I think that this TOTAL CRAP! :stuck_out_tongue:

engage = angle - 6 degree; travel - 7mm
diagonal = range 30 degree; hitting 80%
force to engage = 0,22kG

CWL305 - very soft, very good diagonals, this very nice Crown model.
http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/1953/clw30501uy8.th.jpghttp://img218.imageshack.us/img218/4434/clw30502as0.th.jpghttp://img67.imageshack.us/img67/6792/clw30503yy9.th.jpghttp://img218.imageshack.us/img218/4959/clw30504ok0.th.jpg

throw = angle - 13 degree; travel - 14mm
engage = angle - 7 degree; travel - 8mm
diagonal = range 45 degree; hitting 90%
force to engage = 0,175kG

CWL305 +Spring Action - for me this the best Crown model. I command him, it acts how hybrid Fanta and Competion. Good for KOF, Tekken
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7920/clw30505qa5.th.jpg
rotation = circle
throw = angle - 13 degree; travel - 14mm
engage = angle - 7 degree; travel - 8mm
diagonal = range 30 degree; hitting 80%
force to engage = 0,2kG

CWL306 - NEW Crown model, Quality of realization very good! This looks beautifully. It acts to CWL305 similarly (but I still will CLW305).

manufacturers:
MyoungShin

Myoungshin
Fanta (low stiffness) - Fanta clone, the most often used in korea. Nice feel and realization. BUY:) Alter microswitches on Omron. Joystick acts on them magnificently!
http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/6822/fantamsl01qe7.th.jpghttp://img218.imageshack.us/img218/8679/fantamsl02fp1.th.jpghttp://img67.imageshack.us/img67/5408/fantamsl03iy2.th.jpghttp://img61.imageshack.us/img61/6296/fantamsl04iu3.th.jpg

throw = angle - 13 degree; travel - 14mm
engage = angle - 9 degree; travel - 10mm
diagonal = range 25 degree; hitting 75%
force to engage = 0,22kG

Fanta (medium stiffnes) - Fanta clone, used in Saulabi. Fatal feel and realization, NOT BUY! battop is from rubber, bad centres to center, very slow joystick. CRAP!
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3629/fantamsm03gr5.th.jpg
rotation = circle
throw = angle - 13 degree; travel - 14mm
engage = angle - 9 degree; travel - 10mm
diagonal = range 25 degree; hitting 75%
force to engage = 0,37kG

manufacturers:
TaeYoung
TaeYoung
**Fanta ** - original “Fanta”. Japanes & Korean played on this joystick on SBO. It is very hard 0,5kG! Quality of realization very good - pretty and durable! Unfortunately when I played I lost diagonal during executing QCF:( Therefore that it is hard… Microswitches - GERSUNG very good!
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3097/fantaty01bx2.th.jpghttp://img218.imageshack.us/img218/9051/fantaty02yn5.th.jpghttp://img67.imageshack.us/img67/655/fantaty03ur1.th.jpghttp://img61.imageshack.us/img61/2356/fantaty04bw2.th.jpg

diagonal = range 30 degree; hitting 80%
force to engage = 0,5kG

all joystick be bought from Laugh

several questions:
what is full name MyoungShinFanta? low stiffnes or large actuator? or it is version TaeYoung with soft rubber ring?

So Im gonna guess that Namco Japan doesn’t provide the sticks with the Cabs either? So how do they accompany stick panels?

Some questions

  1. Do Crown sticks use the same mounting plates as Fantas?
  2. If I wanted to buy a Korean stick, should I wait to see what Crown does with their joysticks?

Crowns will fit in a Saulabi but it’s a tight fit. If you’re going to buy Korean parts I would buy them all at once since shipping is pretty pricey, so just throw that extra Crown stick in your order.

Laugh you can make photo Myoungshin medium stiffness -small actuator? They are me necessary on side. When I tested him I did not make photo. I had him only 1 day. 4 photo up, down, izo, profile- white background.
The problem crown then the lack of precision in realization. Sticks is differ with distance of battop to cut under E - clip these differences reach 2mm! I have with hand file better precision haha one shaft “flaying” how drunken or block on actuator.
you have photo new CLW303? I bought CLW305 from you and this excellent stick was. This model is sold still? When I bought it they again they had not small spring in base, was it been possible to buy only spring I need 4?

I had a Crown CWL305 and put Cherry switches in to try it out. They are definitely too soft (not enough resistance) for Korean sticks. If you ever let go of the stick after pressing a direction, the snap-back from the rubber is enough to activate the other switches as the Korean sticks tend to have very short engagement.

And I’m not talking about snapping it in one direction then letting it fly, I’m talking about controlled stick pushes. The SLIGHTEST move will activate a switch making it very annoying and hard to play in my opinion.

laugh can you see if the IL buttons will fit in Korean button holes?

They should. The measurements for Comp buttons and Crown screw-ins is almost exactly the same.

So if I buy a Saulabi and it has the leaf switch stick, I will not be able to put in a K-stick with microswitches?

You can. I had a Saulabi with a Fanta that used leaf-switches but another Fanta fit in just fine.

thanks.

thx:)

CWL sounds in Polish how “cwel” - prison slang on “dicksucker” haha

yes cherry is too soft. I must to check honeywell and MicroYamatake - they are hard. I checked SAIA XG series it is hard microswitches but SAIA suck they are slow, they have stupid cliques.

not fit Kr buttons 27mm diameter iL 28mm.
http://kowal.itcom.pl/ArcadeParts_pliki/EmodSaulabi.htm

Ok. Would it be easy to just sand down the button holes?

in saulabi is easy
in metal panel is nightmare you broaden how in DC

Sweet!

Laugh, are Fantas still tops for K-sticks? Do you think Crown will surpass them with their recent improvements?

MyoungShin and Taeyoung fit very well. However, I have my personal experience only with MyoungShin.

I have some questions about Korean buttons, specifically the Crown CWB 203 A and C models.

  1. On the CWB 203 C, are the plungers flat like Seimitsu snap-ins or convex? I can see that on the CWB 203 A they are flat.

  2. Which model is more sensitive?

  3. Which of these does each model feel most like: Happ, Sanwa, Seimitsu screwin, or Seimitsu snap in buttons?

  4. Which one is sturdier and uses the better microswitch?

Crown CWB 203 C picture:

Flat plungers.

@EvilSamurai

  1. They are both flat, but the A series if I remember correctly has rounded edges while the the C series has well-defined ones.

  2. The A model.

  3. The A model feels similar to a Sanwa button, but with more resistance. Actually I find them more comparable to HRAP buttons, but better.
    The C series feel similar to HAPPs, as in when activating you feel a click. They are definitely softer though than HAPP buttons.

  4. I haven’t played with either long enough to know, but both feel pretty sturdy. I would guess the A series, because after having played with over 30 of the C series buttons, I noticed the “click” to them really vary from button to button. Some of them were very clicky, and some didn’t click at all. laugh said they shouldn’t be that way, so the fact that they are tells me they may not be as dependable.
