Korean arcade parts discussion

Yeah, I haven’t seen anyone post about that in months. I would have thought we would have heard more information about it. Didn’t @“kodee vu” use the mod at combo breaker?

I think I may saw his setup at combo breaker. I also used my golden fanta mod the whole weekend but I’m not at the same league (skill wise) as @“kodee vu” . Though, I did show the folks at Paradise Arcade the Golden Fanta Mod and they seemed impressed.

The guy who is developing the Golden fanta told me he’s working on getting FocusAttack to carry the mod for USA release. No eta on when that will be though.

@Clandestine, IPlayWinner covers these sticks in this video. Its very helpful. If you think that the 309MJ tension is too light, you might want to try the 309FJ HelpMe. It doesn’t have the collar. http://makestick.com/us/?menuType=product&mode=view&act=list&page=&searchField=&searchKey=&lcate=002&mcate=&scate=&fcate=&sort=&prodCode=2016052700001&searchIcon6=&searchIcon7=&searchIcon8=&searchIcon9=&searchColor=&searchSize=&pr_no=&searchStartPrice=&searchEndPrice=

Thanks for the information guys. It sounds like the helpme lever would be better for me then because of the slightly higher tension.

I don’t understand. I was about to purchase a Fujin V2 until I found out it was out of stock on makestick.com. Without Rohan how do we know when its back in stock and if it ever will be back in stock? But more inportantly, why do the older pictures of the stick all show the stick with the dust cover and the newer ones without? did they change the diameter of the shaft?

So I’ve discovered that for me my Myoungshin Fanta is better for Tekken 7 than my Hitbox so I’m gonna stick with that. I can already do Korean backdashes on the 1P side fairly consistently. My Crown 309 HelpMe is supposed to deliver tomorrow so I can’t wait to try that out. I modded the Fanta into my Hori RAP 4 Kai. That stick is so damn light. What’s the best way to “weight down” a fight stick?

Hello all, hope you can help out a noob here.

I play a lot of 2d fighters and I’m more than happy with my RAP4 for those.

But I’d like to get more into 3d fighters, just picked up Tekken 7, and I’ve always wanted to try a Korean arcade stick.

Basically I’m ready to buy one, just don’t know where to look. I’m not interested in modding, just wondering if there’s an arcade stick out there that comes with a quality Korean stick built in.

Guess I just don’t know what I should be looking for. I did find this one though.

Any good? Any better recommendations?

Thanks.

The Omni might be the best stock stick out there

Thanks. Yeah I also came across good reviews and looked into the parts, seems like a winner.

Just ordered mine.

You can use adhesive wheel weights if you want it to look nice and clean inside. Otherwise anything else works like duct tape and rolls of pennies.

I’ve heard of using play dough. I know it’s weird but I heard it works. And if you think about it, it should work really well for weights as you can put it anywhere and in any position. They are actually quite heavy too if you buy 2 or more. Watch this,

So my Crown 309 HelpMe came in today. Wow! That’s all I can say. It’s even better than the Fanta stick. Execution is amazing on that thing. I’m glad I decided to buy it as it’s the best Korean stick I’ve ever tried. I highly recommend it to anyone on the fence. L8r!

How do the rest of you guys think about the HelpMe? Do you also think that the 309 HelpMe is better than the Fanta?

Also, ever notice how the etokki omni has ABXY labeling around the buttons, yet the stick only works on the ps4? It used tobe duel modded if i remember correctly.

It feels like a fanta but the edges (diagonals they call it?) feel better than a fanta, almost like a japanese stick. The diagonals on my fanta feel spongy and hard to interpret. Focus attack still has the small collar version on their site if you have a japanese mount case. Here’s a link to a thread I opened trying to help anyone thinking of modding their japanese mount case to fit a Korean stick. It’s rough but I hope it can help someone out there who is thinking to attempt the mod:

So I just put a crown 309 in my Madcatz TE2+ because my 307 hasn’t been performing well since T7 came out. So I have been trying 2 backdash in T7 and I am having serious problems with it. Truthfully T7 movement has been giving me issues since I started which I never had on Tag2 so it may well just b the movement of the game throwing me off but if not I think my crown might b messed up. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

Take it apart and resamable it to see does it fix the problem

What do you mean when you say the diagonals are better? Is there more room to hit? Are the micro switches making it easier?

Yeah I think it may be the microswitches. They take more force to activate it feels like so you can feel them better. I like how that feels I guess.

Some of us are still using it from what I have seen. Still using mine and I like a couple of combinations. Would love to show it in video form but got some stuff on queue when it comes to content.

As oodk said, try reassembling it if there is something weird in the hardware. Maybe there are some nuanced changes in T7’s movement where maybe you might have some trouble. I have been sort of having that concern and I am just taking my time to get used to it.
