What a champion is using today may differ from the various iterations offered by the company who produced his signature joystick, so there is no need to take it personally, nor to call anyone a “rageux” ( = ragequitter ). I mean come on man. The only people at fault here are Samducksa and their lack of communication.
The 309 Helpme promo pics show levered Gersung A4 (Crown + IST websites) and A3 (Makestick site) , I wasn’t making that up to create an argument, I even posted the links. This and what is reported about Crown sticks sold today is what led me to think there aren’t really any specific gens sometimes. An example of the opacity of the info available: officially Crown Kaze sticks do have different “gen” variations, but even then no mention of it by Samducksa who remains mute, the info was seen on ISTmall’s site (IST says latest gen is number 3 , still undergoing testing, but they only offer version 2 for sale) . Nothing is specified concerning the Helpme model, fitted with A4 on their website.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Samducksa fits their sticks with different switches without any official explanations nor any indication in the reference number of their levers . It even happened with actuators: look at the 307 models sold in the past, some were sold with oversized white delrin actuators , others with stock black actuator, but absolutely no official mention of that on Samducksa’s website nor in the ref numbers of the joysticks. We just have to deal with it . Most of the useful info came from testers such as Hibal.
Kaze lever 3 is coming according to Seomyeon Net Arena Naver page. It will be on ISTMall, not sure if they will update on Makestick. Instead of the blue Sanwa bat top, it will be red.
Hopefully the shaft is taller for better grip. Also the bottom end of the shaft needs to be reduced so it can fit on most Korean stick bodies.
Kaze lever 3 is out. It does say it’s the 2nd version in the description but the pics show a red Sanwa top, a taller shaft, a seemingly larger actuator and four Gersung V1623A3 switches. EDIT: Can’t buy it just yet but it should be coming soon.
@“The Phantomnaut” Their product description seems to describe a different lever. The description describes a Kaze with the Gersung up switch, but the Image is showing all Gersung switches. I don’t like that they removed the 3 Matsushita switches for all Gersungs, but to be honest i don’t even think something so small really ever helped in games like Tekken anyway, nevertheless I think we all would love to see a review. HINT HINT
I’m absolutely ordering out of Korea. I’m in the US. I was just trying to understand the options for the item before even figuring out if they ship to the US .
I assume it’s option “3 domestic stick compatible neck” and then “Buy Lever only” to get just the whole stick and bat top? Or does it not matter a bit since I’m not in Korea and I’ll need to find a middleman?
Doesn’t matter, hitting “Pay Now” doesn’t seem to do much of anything. Tried making an account and it just closes the pop-up…
I guess to rephrase my original question: Where can someone not in Korea order one? I don’t mind paying either ridiculous shipping fees, or a middleman, it’s just the perfect color for my next project.
I’ve been after that color since someone in this thread shared the existence of one, via the Crown 305 spotted on this website. Unfortunately, they are long out of stock, and postage fees to the US were also too high for my liking. There needs to be more handle options for Crown joysticks. Having to import them from Makestick with $25 in postage for just a lever color is a pretty high premium.
While we’re on this subject, could you use a lever/handle from a standard Korean joystick on a Japanese-plate Korean joystick, like the 309MJ?
The shop’s pictures depict a red lever, but judging from the customer pictures it’s actually purple?
That’s a shame. They have a purple, but not the one people are getting from the naver site.
I e-mailed both etokki and makestick to see if they’d be carrying the purple stick. And checked with a proxy site to see if I can get one from the link The Phantomnaut provided :). Sometimes you have to spend a little more to get the item that’s just right.
You can put a Myoungshin lever top/shaft on a Crown lever but not likewise. All modern Crown tops/shafts should be interchangeable.
Also yes it’s purple.
EDIT/BAD NEWS: Panasonic switches are discontinued so if you get a Crown lever, Airbag lever or the Fujin V2 with the switches, then it’s probably are the last batches. It might be the reason why the 3rd version of the Kaze lever is all Gersung.
Also with the Infiltration lever coming, I think you can make it work as a normal Korean lever if the build is similar to their other levers. Here are the archives of the lever from Kane TV:
