anyone going to isu today? i was thinking about going down there to get some sf4 in. i couldn’t find any sf4 machines near where i live so far.
hmm i was gonna meet up with jeff today but he cancelled and i haven’t been able to get any sleep since i got sf4 on xbox… cuz i keep dreaming/thinking of sf4 and having to ACTIVELY engage in thinking or strategy about a videogame makes me sleep lightly… and the heat/light/sound of my room really makes me wake up early

alvin: i only have one stick… and they’re kinda expensive. i saw a used one for $70. but you’re welcome to come to my house and practice if you want. you can play online vs people! but i can’t get my router to work so i can’t use the internet WHILE i play so like, you’ll either have to fix this or bring a working router lol. maybe my canadian one doesn’t work here or something? i dunno lol.
G-2 is insanely difficult. breaking THROUGH to g-2 only takes about 4-5 hours if you can win 90% of your matches. i got through 4 hours at 93% win rate. you almost spend as much time searching for opponents as you do playing though. major drawback haha.
anyway, to get to G-2, you need 2000 points. i think you get 60 points for tournament win, and you need 3 straight wins to get the champion. i think you get 30 points for getting to the finals though.
but to get to G-2, you need 20,000 points. TWENTY FUCKING THOUSAND
every tournament you win, you get 108 points. second place gets half that
assuming you win all the tournaments you end, and you need to win 4 straight for a tournament… if each game takes 5 minutes (it’ll take more cuz sometimes you gotta wait a few minutes to find an opponent…)
wait, i did the math and it’ll only take 55 hours hahaha that’s nothing! wtf
well, 55 hours is a long ass time hahaha and that’s if you win EVERY game
well, you gotta win 667 games in total to get to G-1… but like only in multiples of 4 in a row… so that’s fucking MASSIVE… expect to play at LEAST 2000 games before you can get to G-1
