Korea Thread - SF, Chicken, and Beer

ah… japan…

yes…

ah…

I want to go to mainland Japan

I will be at Isu or wherever you guys go on Sunday. Saturday night I’m free too.

i should be ok on Sunday as well. just tell me the time and the place.

How is the ST scene in Korea? Is there at least 5 people that play regularly and at what arcade?

I’m asking because i’m about to join the army and I am going to try to be stationed in Korea.

So I’m in Seoul now. Suffering in Myeun Dong shopping hell. Are there no arcades here?

I’m down for going out on Sunday to Isu. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

my old girlfriend came back from jeju island so i might go and see her on sunday! but i do wanna go and meet azrael for intel on japan!

sanjuro… i don’t know what’s ST but i do know a buncha people play champion edition at noryanjin station. i’m SURE there’s more than 5 people who play ST given you can actually find an arcade that plays it. do you play anything more recent? tons of people play sf4! might as well pick up that game if you have nothing else better to do. jk about not knowing what ST looks like. but it’s a pretty old game… and asians REALLY like to be with the times. some arcades like my local arcade already REMOVED sf4

dude… koreans love their champion edition.

i know, right?

Tao, what was up with the pelvic thrust after that one match against the Sagat player? You looked so confused at first lol…thanks for keeping me entertained lol

I have SF4 on my ps3 and I have played it. I just dont care that much for the game (maybe its because 90% of the people online are fucking scrubs). ST is my main game and the game I prefer to play over anything else, regardless if its new or not. If not then I will stick with SF4, champion edition, and KOF.

haha i was confused cuz i didn’t know which camera was on my face… they had like 4 different ones

and i haven’t played sf4 online so i wouldn’t know… but yeah, you can get hella challengers in champion edition depending on where in seoul you’re stationed. sf4 is good cuz there’s tons of players and like i love playing a game i’m good at etc but sometimes it’s fun to learn something new

they LOVE KOF some places though! if you play KOF you surely can find challengers. but honestly, i haven’t seen a single ST cabinet in like 8 arcades =/

edit: hey laugh… my friend “koost” from vancouver is wondering if you can get like ps2/ps3 adapter cords?? you got some for shmoke from vancouver so not to make you go out of your way etc but yeah lol

so who’s coming out to isu tomorrow. i went today around 3ish and only met d.fox. few other players but since poongko was there, most of the time was spent just losing to him.

hey laugh, do you have a website for your goods?

i want to see what you sell. i’m thinking about trying my hand at custom sticks.

alright, thanks a bunch for the prompt reply. i wasn’t sure if he wanted me to bring them BACK to vancouver or for you to ship them out so i’ll let him know

and, i might come out!!! but i’ve got a “pseudo date” with some chick that i don’t even know if it’s a date or if she’s breaking up with me after not seeing me for 3 months LOLZ and i don’t really wanna go any more… i love my mistress too much =(

when is the meeting time?? 4?? i’ll only be able to stay for 2 hours though if that’s the case

Sorry I haven’t been able to call laugh, my stupid cell phone won’t let me call Korean numbers for whatever reason.

Anyway, I’ll head out to the arcade sometime around 2-3. I should be able to find it, and if not, then I’ll use a pay phone to get some directions. If you see a black guy you haven’t seen before using either Guile or Chun in SFIV, that’s me.

I should be there as well today. Around 4ish. Also, anyone teach tekken, never really played it much, but kinda want to

how was the gathering??? sorry i got owned!!! my old girlfriend came into town but then fucking bailed out on me claiming that she felt unwell

and then it was too late to go out. so i watched the new clint eastwood movie with some english teachers from ansan

IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME GO AND SEE IT LOL

it was fun.

ps. you got played tao

yeah you did tao. it was fun. more ppl at isu than i’ve ever seen cept for the tourney and i took a game off poongko’s ryu. my record against his ryu is now like 1 and 50.

anyway, nice meeting you azrael and good to see everyone else again.

Too bad you couldn’t make out there, Tao. That was a lot of fun. I was honestly hoping you would make it out so I could maybe play a game with you. I didn’t feel as scrubby as the last time I was out there. Felt good to actually be able to play somewhat decent against some of you guys. I think I got lucky against Azrael and Pinto, though. I got a round in on Poongko (which really boosted my confidence, lol), but I think I just got kind of lucky :stuck_out_tongue: Ryan pretty much destroyed my face.

That was a really fun night, but it was a nightmare getting home. Jesus Christ, I was so frustrated, annoyed and just plain mad. I left Isu at around 9:45 and got to the Nambu bus terminal at around 10:15. I see that the time sheet says the next bus for Anjung arrives at around 10:45 so I waited and waited. I called my cousin and asked her what was up and she said that it should be there soon. So I waited and it was damn near 11:00 and no bus had arrived. So my other cousin called me and told me that the last bus was actually at 9:45. So this just pissed me off because apparently they could really just trash the time sheet all together or just take off all the arrival and departure times and replace them with question marks. So now I had to get back on the subway and try to get to Pyeongtaek. Now its 12:00 when I make it to Geumjang station and the subway to Pyeongtaek has already ended. So now I had no choice but to take a taxi all the way from goddamn Geumjang to Anjung which was ridiculously expensive… What a series of unfortunate events.

As annoying and infuriating as all that was, I look at it like a good experience. I don’t really use a whole lot of public transportation, so it was a good experience to use the subway as much as I had to, and to grab a taxi on my own.

[Edit]Oh, Tao, was the new Eastwood movie called “Gran Torino”? I saw that last year and was pretty underwhelmed. It was an ok movie. Even though you can figure out how everything will go down in less than half way through the movie, it was still decent. I think this was mainly due to Eastwood himself. I mean, I personally didn’t think there was much there outside of Eastwood’s performance. I think the best scene is probably the barbershop scene where Eastwood and the Barber are trying to teach the little asian kid how to speak in the neighborhood. It’s honestly not even a really good scene, but it’s funny. I also felt like the little asian kid was probably one of the worst actor’s I have seen in a long time. The scene where he is locked in the basement just makes me crack up because it is so horribly acted by that kid. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I think it is worth seeing, but I still felt a little underwhelmed.[/edit]

meh I ended up getting stuck at Byeongjeom as last train. I should of left earlier lol…

Anyways it was nice chilling with you guys. Sorry I don’t show up that often.
