any of u guys play mvc3 tho??? ssf4 competition is easy to find but mvc3 is fucking DEAD

jesus everyone has xbox… might have to buy one lol

where is the ps3 love

I agree about the ps3 love. lol I’m on sort of regularly, dependent on how much work I have to do or if I’m just dead lazy. but I’d like to run some endless on psn with anyone…although I’m stuck on pad atm and I’m sucking lol so don’t expect much.

PSN-----> sub acc: TypetheEND-13
main acc: Astral_apachE

*i’m mostly on the sub acc for now…seems like ppl don’t like playing with ppl that it says have regions outside of asia

@spidertao…lol its cause there’s UMVC bro!! well that’s what I think >.<

ok guys, so i found a website to the lazy diner. This is the spot where we can have tournaments in the southern region of korea. Here is their website: http://www.lazydiner.co.kr/ website is in hongul so i can’t read it. Can someone see if they have a map or address? They also have a facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/LAZY-DINER/116859948325670 Let me know if plp would travel here for tournaments. OH btw, my TE sold to: elboborey

That’s the map the have on their site. Looks pretty damn far from anything

i would come down for a couple tourneys but i would absolutely get BODIED in anything, except maybe soul calibur lol. i am pretty free

Hey guys, is anyone interested in a stock ps3 R2 for $110 shipped? I will post pics if plp want it.

Yo! that’s pretty close to where I live. I’d be down for some tournies, although I’m waiting for my friend to come over on vacation so he can give me my stick that I stupidily forgot to pack. but yea, I like this spot!

So i assume you have been there before. The food is amazing, and the owner/employees are real nice and friendly. I briefly spoke to them about having tourneys there and they said yes. Is there anybody that can talk to the owner in hongul to make sure there is no confusion?

I wish I could speak…

and well I’ve been around the area but not in that specific place. but it looks like a pretty sweet venue.

If u pm me the info about ur tourney, i will to talk to the owner :smiley:

Well its just going to be basic tourneys with single or double elimintation depending on how many plp show up. I think most of the other detail should be worked out by the community, like the entrance fee for example. I’m thinking about W20,000 per person if everyone is ok with this. I was also thinking that we should have these tourneys once or twice a month. Note that the owner only has one PS3 and that will have to be the console of choise, unless he is ok with plp brining an Xbox 360. He has two tv’s that we can use in his restaurant. Philly-one, please tell him that this will attract more plp to his restaurant and thus will create more business for him. I will advertise for the American soldiers in the daegu/waegwan area to try and get more plp to come out for this. How do you guys think the pot should be split? Obviously the owner will have to take a portion to help out with the utilities used and so on. I’m going to start working on a flyer for the tourneys and will post here for approval from the community. I would like these tourneys to be run/organized by the community, so feedback would be amazing. Tnx guys :slight_smile:

Edit: Which games would everyone be willing to travel for? UMVC3, and SSFIV? Tnx guys :slight_smile:

well I am balls at MVC3 so I’d be all for SSFIV:AE (or just super haha).

also if there are people that just want to watch, should there be like a venue fee for them? and 20 000 is reasonable, but of course I think it depends on how many people will show up and whatnot. And there will be advertisments to the physical community around the place right?

You might struggle to get many/any Korean entrants with that entrance fee.

that’s probably true…maybe when someone is talking with the manager they could alos discuss prices and whatnot.

Is that too much for the korean population?
I’m all for dropping the entrance fee, but the pot money will drop as well. What would be an “acceptable” entrance fee for a korean local?

First of all we’re not going to be playing super, it’ll be AE only lol. I don’t think we should charge plp to watch. I say this because it is a restaurant, so are plp that go there to eat going to be charged extra to eat? It would be really hard to eat there and not stare or watch. Lastly i think its morally wrong to charge plp to watch. Did they charge plp at evo? I don’t know because i wasn’t there. As far as advertisements, i am working on a photoshop flyer which i will post here once i have it done so that you guys can give me some feed back. Don’t expect a lot, i just started using photoshop lol. I’m not sure who will print them out. I think the owner should do it because even though the flyer advertises the tourney, it also advertises his business. Maybe we can take that expense out of the pot or something.

Philly, make sure you keep reading this thread to keep up on what we’re planning to do. I will pm you the final info for the tourney so that you can pitch the idea to the owner after the community works out all of the kinks.

I’m pretty sure the same standard that’s in the states exists in Korea now, so 10000KRW. Isn’t that what you charge Philly?

That sounds reasonable. I know there was debate between myself, Philly, and Ryan on what would be accepted, but I don’t know what’s good since I haven’t gotten a chance to enter a tourney whenever I’m in Korea. But I think that’s what ID charges, but I don’t know if people would travel for it from all around Korea. I would putting the word out as much as possible, see if you can hype up this tournament for all of Korea, try and get people from Daejeon, Jeonju, Daegu, all over to this if you’re wanting people to have incentive to travel. But IDK how many people would end up traveling to Busan over Seoul for a tournament.

Maybe if you guys stage this around the time Marn is in Busan, get him to come, and hype it up with him making a guest appearance. If the tournament runs well, and provides hype, and gets people out, you might be able to have a regular thing going.

>.< maaan I’ve been scammed back home then…cheapskates charged fees to sit in and stuff…anyways, if you want help with the flyer let me know, I like fooling around with designs and whatnot. And maybe we should play around with the numbers, cause if this is going to be a semi-regular thing (which would be sweet) we can experiment with a few things the first time around.

How long does it take to get from Busan to Daegu? I completely agree with trying to get some more well known players for some hype. and if there’s time, maybe we can try a running through a tourney then going for the big one when Marn is in the country.

edit* ahh…scratch that. just realized what the date was >.<

From what i have heard its now acceptable to charge plp to watch in the states. I personally dont agree with it. I think if your a non player and your part of the posse you shouldnt have to pay to cheer your friends on during the tourneys. I would appreciate help with flyers. Why dont you go ahead and make the ssf:4Ae flyer. Ill make the umvc3 flyer. I will poat mine tonight to get some feedback.

I beleive it takes 2-3 hrs feom busan to daegu. I think that daegu would be a good medium for plp to travel from seoul and busan. Traveling from busan to seoul, and vice versa is way too far, so i think daegu would be the logical place. its also not that far from pohan, and daejeon. What so you guys think?
