i hate the guilty gear cabinets in asia!! the dust button is in the roundhouse kick position instead of medium kick (what i’m used to)
i swear, i can sorta hang with some of the lower leveled players but i can’t fucking combo cuz i fuck up the dust!! and maybe if it was xx or #reload cuz those are the only ones i actually have played haha
dongbang WAS a challenge. but it had lots of challengers! i think green arcade had the best players… i played laugh and 2 dudes who were at least as good as me there. while at isu i have only seen good players on tourney day… and dongbang had one guy imo

lol the first time I played Guilty Gear in Korea… I was like FUCK!
I played Sol and I was used to playing normal Street fighter button style. (Punch on top kick on bottom)
Now I’m accustomed to Korea’s setup and I play Eddie now.
I remember back in the day at Isu… me and Pyongko (sp?) would play each other every Sunday afternoon for a couple hours. We played each other in CvS2 and 3rd strike. I came really close to beating him in CvS2, but I don’t think I actually beat him scratches head
3rd strike is a different story. We went back and forward with our wins.
IM STILL PISSED Isu doesn’t have CVS2 or 3rd strike anymore… WTF!
I got the console version today. I was trying that Sagat for so long… I just can’t get that dude. I eventually just started to browse the characters a little more. I’m really enjoying Bison. I’m actually nearly done with the challenge mode for Bison. Well, the combo challenge mode, that is. I just have one left. So far I am leaning towards using him as my main.
I still want to learn another character, but I’m not too sure who…

no, that guy actually isn’t the gief player i mentioned. the gief player is a younger looking dude with glasses, usually wears one of those shiny puffy jackets (blue i think), and i’ve only seen him at jungin. plus he’s WAY better than the guy you played.
the guy you played is the local ass. he hella mashes(to good effect), taunts, and makes weird faces to himself whenever he wins. i swear he’s a little kookoo. his main is blanka, but can beast with rufus. i personally found his gief to be mediocre. to beat his rufus, you just have to block and bait his EX messiah kicks.
it’s too bad you only got to play him. there’s at least 3 other regulars that are way better than him!
oh! now that i think about it, it’s exam season or something, and a lot of people haven’t been going to dongbang lately…
and i think the best player there is moving or has already moved to busan…? not sure.
anyway, something big came up during my visit in the states, and looks like i’ll have to say goodbye to korea for good. i’m going stop by korea for about a week starting March 6th to pack up and wrap things up. i hope i can get a few games in with some of you, although i’ll probably be completely worthless after not having played for nearly 2 months.

yeah i’m curious about that 1frame delay too laugh. are you playing with others in korea or with people around the world? also, is the game playable even if you don’t have full 5 bar connection? and what stick are you using? custom bought/made in korea or are you a pad pro too?
I’ve been playing a bunch lately. I’m starting to get to the point where, like laugh, I will only play dudes with at least 4 bars. Anything lower, then I just won’t bother playing.
I’ve been getting pretty frustrated with it though, haha. Instead of thinking about why I lost I just get frustrated. Haha, I notice that is more common when I am playing with random people on the internet. If I am playing with people I know and enjoy being around, then I just have a good time. I was doing TERRIBLE with the game at first. I had like 20% win ratio. I’ve bumped it up to 50% or so now. So I guess I am getting a bit better.
Laugh, are there a lot of Korean and Japanese players on the PS3? Not too many on the xbox version. Well, there are a few Japanese people. Most of it is English, though (not a surprise, really).
I played for about two hours with this one dude today and it was running great. Too bad he couldn’t speak english, haha. That was the first time where I actually messed around and we just played with random characters. Gouken seems pretty ridiculous from what I played. Then again, I don’t know a whole lot about the game.
I’ll hopefully get my two tournament edition sticks this week. This hori stick is pretty doodoo. There is this problem where if I hold up-right, sometimes it will just read as forward. So when I want to do a headstomp or devil reverse it will do a double-knee press or a psycho crusher sometimes and then I get lumped on. Or if I want to jump backwards it just walks backwards then I get caught in a rush down.
I’m throwing those headstomps out WAY too much. I am getting too comfortable with them. They’re great for getting people when you know they are going to jump. Sometimes I’ll just be dumb and throw that shit out for no reason. The tick-throwing is really catching me too. Ugh, I always see it coming and then I just let it happen. It always goes like this, “OK here comes the throw, I should do something… Or my hands can just stay completely still and not do anything at all.” Pretty gay, hahaha.
[edit]Oh, laugh, I forgot to ask: Does that convertor work well? I got a ps1/ps2 arcade stick and a convertor. I was worried it wouldn’t work that well with the game on ps3 though. I hope it works fine. That was the whole reason I didn’t get a TE stick on PS3[/edit]

are the new characters coming out for the arcade versions?
Tao, I’ve been playing a lot on console. I got around 26 hours in right now. Maybe 120-130 matches. The bionic commando team had a podcast with Yoshinori Ono recently and said that there were no plans to update the arcade version. He did say that it wasn’t out of the question. Said if there was enough demand for it that it would happen.
Honestly, it would be stupid to not update the arcade version. Therefore, I don’t see an update coming 
laugh, i’m surprised you can take games off the guy. are you taking games off his ryu or someone else? he seems only above average with other characters.
