Konami ceases triple-A console production on all but PES

I will give you that the main characters of 3 are more interesting than Riou and Jowey, but Luc is the main villain of 3 and you’re comparing him to Luca Blight.

There is simply no comparison. Suiko 2 alo has the damn Iron Chef mini game. NOTHING COMPARES TO THAT.

5 is easily the second best Suiko game because it takes already likeable established characters and makes them samurais. That is instant win. I do LIKE three, just the random running around during battles is just messy to me. Does have the distinction of having the best music in the series tho.

I feel like the Chrono Trigger-style running around in 3 was pretty interesting. Added an extra layer of strategy.

5 was definitely good, but I don’t feel like it was necessarily better than the rest, either.

Now I know Pimpus is the real deal, the only nigga not to defend that unholy abomination that is MGR, fuck all you weeaboo ass bastards.

The main problem people seem to have with 5 is that it takes a bit to get going, but I actually like that it sets that stuff up. Beavers and Dragon Cavalry are broken in war battles, and putting Zerase and Richard on your team can pretty much break the game, lol.

Also, totally agree on Luca Blight. That guy as a villain was just freaking awesome.

What an absolute ffag.

You talking smack about the most American game ever made?

Remember, he could’ve gone pro.

As far as suikoden goes, the 4th is clearly the worst. The other four titles are so excellent that its hard to rank them. 2,3 and 5 are all such great experiences that I don’t know if I can pick a clear cut winner.

True.

Sit down. Your bitch is showing under that skirt.

I like how many of you say Konami fucked up by going “mobile” and mobile is dumb.

we are in the minority. And you guys aren’t understanding why mobile makes sense

-mass proliferation of mobile devices means you don’t have to push some shovelware hardware at consumers to use your product
-rapid advancements capacity
:2008 (tablets have about 512 ram, 2015 phones have more RAM than Xbox 360 and PS3 on average
-tablets quickly gaining momentum to eliminate laptops
:Surface Pro 3 is a laptop, apple just relased their copy cat bullshit tablet to with stylus, and keyboard
:phones rumored to be fully functioning hybrid phone/laptop hybrids
-easy to push, sell, and hype games up for 1$ per purchase
-More power in those things than any Nintendo’s rehash of the same handheld for over the last 10 years

Mobile gaming is the future whteher we like it or not. Now wheather or not these dumb ass companies can prevent a bubble it’s here to stay. Even if there’s a bubble it’s here to stay. Mobile devices are now standardized in any nation that 's developed. That means entertainment options aren’t going to stop.

Nintendo has consitently shown and proven that handheld devices are a real money maker. Both Sony and Nintendo market their little things as PLAY ON TO GO, PLAY WITH MOBILITY. The rhetoric and infastructure is there and has been already proven. Anybody that has a DS or whatever the fuck it’s called now in days, is part of the mobile market.

It makes sense to move into this market and not share any profits with a company like Sony and or Nintendo. If gaming companies are serious about mobile, they can make good 16 and or 32 bit style games on mobile for relatively cheap. Gaming isn’t something you just “DO” at home, most of you have a handheld device. I don’t know how you guys fail to see the irony, and are lashing out against this because it doesn’t have Nintendo’s stamp of approval. LOL

You can’t lump things like the vita and DS in with mobile. Sure they are portable, but mobile implies phones and tablets with the majority of games being short distraction type stuff and not fleshed out gaming experiences you find on a Sony or Nintendo handheld.

The games that aren’t of the distraction variety? Ports of games that we’ve had rehashed on a variety of systems over the years, so they aren’t really mobile.

I mainly take my handheld for flights and camping trips where I go to bed at 8 pm in 20 degree weather but can’t fall asleep that early, so I chill in my sleeping bag for a couple hours.

myabe they aren’t “fleshed” out because non of the big companies have actually given it a go. And every time they mention it, people post these bullshit complains of mobile sucks beause of look at the games.

INB4 megaman whatever for iOS that was touted as a replacement for Legends 3

When companies give it a serious go, and you get the same shit you have now, then you can laugh at them.

But it really doesn’t matter. The mainstreaming of games have essentially made risk taking and good games a harder commodity. So either way, the “hardcore” gamer is fucked.

Yes you can because mobile gaming is killing handheld gaming.

why wouldn’t it. Who the fuck wants to carry an extra electronic in their pocket. You already have a phone that cost as much as a Vita/DS. Why would I, the casual gamer, would fucking buy another 300 dollar piece of equipment and spend more on top of those games, when I can spend 1$

You guys actually take your handhelds with you when you leave the house? I thought this was just commercial bullshit.

Oh, I’m not commenting on it. I’m just stating a fact.

I play Ace Attorney on my breaks at work shrug

Games on phones don’t compare to games on the Vita/3DS. I can’t get a games like Monster Hunter, Tales, Muramasa and the like on a mobile. If they did they’ll have to dumb down a bunch of shit to make it work.

I live in New York so I often play my Vita and 3DS when riding on the subway. Those things are handy for long trips.

what, you never went to school? I’m sure people who do public transportation and are more “spirited” gamers take theirs where they go. A lot of my friends I had in college used to carry one with themselves all the time.

See this is the nonsene I’m talking about. No company has seriously tried making a game for handeld. Even when the DS came out you’d hear the argument,

Well the DS doesn’t compare to a real console. my buttons and what not. And now it can along with the Vita. You also need to rememver, you are a minority that companies like Konami simply do not care about. They want more money, and they obviously think it’s in mobile. If they make money there, then they will start throwing more advanced games in there. But you got to invent the wheel first.

I don’t like the idea of mobile games, hell I don’t like handhelds really. But that’s where it’s going, and I can see why. There’s money, the infastructure is there, and there’s little risk involved if your really think about it. It’s a gold rush waiting to happen only to be dried up in a few years.

Are we talking on hardware or software? The argument that the games in their series don’t play the same is true, BUT their line-up and what you can expect from them is predictable. Their hardware is unpredictable and mostly awesome, but even then the level of support goes back to the first point about their software.

I agree here. Most of the people that have made us fall in love with these companies aren’t even at their respective companies, so I guess this is why the gloom-n-doom in this thread is the way it is. The old guard has already changed for the most part and if they haven’t left the vg industry entirely, they have already started their own companies which have been making innovative games this gen and last.

People in this hobby have short memories and like to act that we were getting 50-some titles released every month ‘back in the day’ that were nothing but innovation, with only a few a shitty titles here and there, ignoring that a lot of cult favorites and innovative titles weren’t the norm and often overlooked at the time of their releases.

Yet you have a MGS avatar.
