i guess if you are close enough.
so i just came back from training mode. with recording the dummy Birdie to do chain.
critical connects after you v reversal his chain as long as you time and space it properly, the timing is tighter than i thought. but you will know that it connects when your critical activates while you can still see the writing on Birdie’s back of his jacket. or else he’ll block it.
i also tested to see if Kolin’s overhead is airborne or not by using ex high counter against it. as you know, high counter counters airborne attacks like ibuki’s overhead…nope.
even if kolin’s overhead looks airborne its not.
only mid counter works. so no airborne frames on her overhead.
lastly, tested to see if she could ex counter vega’s critical.
impossible. she wont do it.
i did ex high counter at different timing and ex high counter doesnt work.
good news though is v skill does work. you have to go to training mode to get an idea of the timing.
you should be hitting v skill right before he touches the wall.
anything after is too late.
so i just found out first hand you can high counter dragon punches.
its a mystery to me which special moves you can counter and which you cant. i thought any physical attack can be countered except fireballs and command grabs/throws.
then i find out she wont high counter vega’s critical.
so its a mystery which special moves that are physical attacks can be countered. because i thought maybe dps couldnt be but yeah they can.
omg.
next time someone mashes an akuma or ken ex dp…yunno how they do double dp when ex’ed?..motherfuckers expect to get that 2nd dp to get ex high countered.
just cuz.
edit.
maybe its just criticals that she cant counter.
against alex, intentionally do st. fierce into ex mid counter against his parry v trigger. he will parry your fierce and you counter his attack. practice it.
has anyone played against him yet?
i havent gone online yet.
maybe tonight i will.
tho everyone is a beginner with him right now. wonder how tough he’ll be once he has been figured out.
Hailstorm set-ups for the most part don’t work on him because his hitbox is bigger. They hit him earlier than other characters, meaning you lose a lot of frames and can’t, for example, do combos that start with a button -> combo into hail -> continue. This would only work if he’s crouching but not blocking but nobody does that.
On the other hand he has quite a few moves that are rather telgraphed and can easily be countered or V-Skilled. Hard to say how the matchup evolves, but Hailstorm is more of a zoning tool here than a set-up.
I think against it you should just block. I should be punishable. I haven’t seed frame data yet but i think it should be punishable as all sweeps. His giant flip can be a bitch. For that you have to react because it has range and is plus on block. I don’t know how reactable it is yet.
