all i can figure out is her st. strong, back hk, and cr. mk are the only things it seems that can fluster Vega.

doesnt feel bad at all imo.
EX Upper could be an issue if you want to do some kind of (Ex)HK Vanity set-up since it’s fast, autocorrects, is invincible and has babyproof inputs.
That said I didn’t play Kolin during the beta as she got no changes so I don’t know if there are other things to worry about.
ex upper goes through vtrigger ice. just fyi.
i played against Windalfr’s Ed for 45 matches. i lost each one. but i never felt as though i was fighting the character…like how i feel when i fight Bison, Guile, Vega, Gief. Even Nash. he has to be close to you to do anything.
its 5-5 imo.

i agree but i really didnt feel he can maul her at all. her biggest weakness is prob her stubby normals. he needs to be close to do anything.
the reason he’s top tier is cuz he can convert into high damage once he has meter. doing otg combos shenanigans.
Of all characters I struggle against Juri the most I’ve noticed today. Played two Juri players just one, one of them wasn’t even particularly good and I lost quite badly. Her fireball shuts down Kolin at her most effective ranges and pretty much makes her free on wakeup as you can’t make them fear her counter at all when Juri’s getting protected by it. Outside of that range it’s not even worth doing something as Juri has multiple options to blow up hailstorm on reaction.
I might just have a bad day because I lost to a god-awful Nash just now but even then I think Juri has the edge in the Kolin matchup.
I noticed during the juri match up, she has to be careful with her stores. Kolin can catch a store with a ex parabellum.
Ok, that’s good to know. I tend to underestimate its speed.
lk vanity step>punch goes through juri fireballs and should punish its release. in theory.
aside from that…Vega normals maul me all day every day. i hate that match up. his normals stuff everything she does and trying to counter is too hard on reaction. only thing that seems to work is st. mp.
i tried to find any video of a good poking vega vs a good kolin but i found nothing. nothing of any learning the match up value. only vids i found were of matches from months ago before all the good vegas figured out that all they have to do is keep hitting buttons against her from a distance.

back when i still had my ps4, i’d just look at the top players of my character on the CFN leaderboards and go through all their ranked match replays to see how they approach matchups. one of the few good SFV features lol
theoretically kolin can v reversal Birdie’s chain and hit him with critical art. just a heads up. i havent done it yet hence the theory part. but you should be able to do it. you can also v reverse a fireball so the shotos should be hit with their hadoken animation but i am not sure since i think its shorter recovery than chain since birdie chain recovery animations are really long. he should be wide open.
