KOF XIV General Discussion - King of Fighters XIV Arcade Ver. Burn 2 Fight cabinets from Taito!

Also all communities has it’s rough edges, occasional spats are expected and are no big deal. I mean, you can’t have something as toxic as mid-2000s DoA, but a decent community is the norm and doesn’t play that big a factor.

It’s about having the tools available so that people can play without having to jump through unnecessary hoops. For a cult title like KoF quality netcode is a must, lest the game will die out in no time.

Obviously Capcom don’t want to have fight in their forums & loose their fans.So they maintain their forum’s friendliness through forum rules:

#6. HEY! Don’t be rude!
b) One purpose of the forums is in fact to facilitate discourse.
Please keep that in mind when posting and be accepting of
other people’s opinions and thoughts.

So every person’s opinion has a place with in their forum community so casuals do not hesitate to post or visit these forums. This is what i meant by advertising friendly community in forums.Imagine someone saying hurtful things to you just because you post your difficulty & your opinion about it.Will it be a good advertise to the potential, casuals players who visit the forum ?

Unfortunately SNK do not have official forum like that & this is SRK, so imo it have to be done by ourselves because of the SNK’s current situation(Because i think regardless of what ever we all wants SNK to continue developing games). And as you said the rest of my concerns rely heavily on SNK’s part but what if i say to you that they are resulting because of their financial in capabilities ? Because of this, SNK’s future is heavily depend on us.

Found this on net :
SNK’s operating income for this year was reduce by 35.7% relatively to last year.Hope KOF XIV will save them from this unfortunate situation.

For me the most difficult thing in KOF is switching between normal, long and short hop during battle. Especially for overhead attacks. Much more difficult than air dasher games. Other SNK games have those 3 kind of jumps as well (Garou and Last Blade among them). Have not seen much of it in KOFXIII compared to the classic games. Compared to Capcom games this makes jumping much more strategic.

Uh, didn’t know this thread existed. I’m going to go to Playstation Experience this weekend to play KOFXIV. I’ll tell y’all what I think of it when I get back.

Edit: Is it confirmed that KOFXIV will only be playable on Sunday, December 6th or will it be playable on both days? I couldn’t find an article on Google that clarifies this other than Gematsu saying it’s on both days. I just want to make sure.

I’ve never got too into Kof (Though I’ve played lots of AoF2 and CvS2) so I can’t say for sure but if the skill requirement is comparable to the GG series, then it is a lot easier than SF4 imo. Because I’m actually adequate at GGXrd but I find SF4 to be incredibly difficult(Not that I think that’s a bad think, I love the difficulty of SF4)

I want something like Garou. Shouldn’t be hard to emulate one of the best fighting games ever.
Easier to get into and doesn’t require ridiculously lenghty combos that stress my hand everytime I try to pull them off.

Comments for the newest video already disabled :shake:

they released the video with comments disabled because they got tons of negative comments imeadietly after releasing the first trailer

No they were disabled even before the 1st trailer was released.

Don’t you guys mean KOF98 but with Garou’s input leniency instead?

As much i love garou, that game is not one of the best figting games ever by a long shot.

Actually, this is not uncommon with Japanese companies. Namco’s Japanese channel, for example, doesn’t allow comments or rating on their videos by default.

Which makes some sense…these are promotional tools, and if a bunch of randoms are whining about whatever, it kind of defeats the purpose of promoting. Forces people to come to their own conclusions, rather than joining the hive mind.

You can still tell people is salty by all those downvotes lol. Reminds me of those SFxT pre release videos with that white girl.

I’m trying to stay positive. But damn those graphics.

I was expecting to see this at the end of the trailer.

Don’t get it twisted though. Will be buying this to support SNK. Same as many of us did with KOF12.

And I hate shit like that. I’m not a personal believer in “company support”. Support the games, not the company. And I already know the rebuttal will be “Well if you don’t support the company you won’t get the games”. I’d rather support the good games so said companies knows what I will buy from them. And if they don’t bring out any more good games, then I just move on simple as that.

Let’s assume 4 characters get revealed at PS Experience, who would you see them being? I can see each being from teams not revealed yet so,

Yuri (Art Of Fighting)
K (K Team)
Kim (Kim Team)
Alice (Woman Fighters Team)

King (women fighters)
Yamazaki(I’m hoping he’s the last member) or Geese (South Town)
Angel (Mexico)
Handicap Boxer (South America)

I disagree.

Anyone who says Garou doesn’t have long or hard combos probably hasn’t played a whole lot of Garou.
