I think they just teased Joe.
Probably he will be announced officialy later in a trailer along with Goro and Mature, closing Hero team, Yagami team and FF team. And after that we’ll have a trailer with the 3 iconic japanese girls of SNK, Mai, Yuri and Nakoruru.
Pure speculation, but I think is going to be like that. Then, only new ones will remain to be shown.
that’s unfair though, Ryo should have a infinite range fireball at least for their LP version. Robert zoners beat short ranged Ryo players everytime in KOFs that have nerfbat Ryo.
Close range fighters take more skill to win than long range zoners, that’s why more picked fighters like Robert and Athena more than Ryo. And even Yuri has variations where she can hold her fireball to charge it up for a infinite range version.
Geese still has his infinite range reppuken, he’s going to dominate as a zoner. but looking at that screen where Ryo and Geese’s fireballs collide, Ryo’s fireball graphics doesn’t look like the short range type. normally his short range fireball has a big splash effect to it instead of a concentrated energy projectile.
KOFXIII Ryo is better and more picked than KOFXIII Robert even though Robert has a zoning projectile.
Zoning takes just as much skill or even more skill than inside-game characters. Keeping people out is very difficult at highest level of play in almost any fighting game, and the rewards per hit isn’t a big pay off like one character getting a combo. Games like the SFIV series and KOFXIII have shown that games now-a-days are skewed to favor combo characters and inside-game characters than zoning. Are you going to say playing Dhalsim in SFIV takes less skill than the Yun that rushes him down? Please, I beg of you, stop.
