The reason why they cant do that to other girls is because they don’t have enough clothes on to begin with or it would be open i guess. Mai? lolwhat. Leona? she’s just wearing a top. Kula? Is she wearing anything under that suit? See where I’m getting.
You are so right, a great testament to that for me is Leona. I usually hate the archetypical icy cold and/or stoic soldier lady(Sonya Blade, Samus Aran, Hilde(Soul Caliber 4), etc.), but somehow Leona ended being my Favorite KoF character
To be honest, I always liked Leona but I couldn’t play her worth a damn when I was still in high school (referring to OG KOF98), partially because I was not used to her normal moves. That was a very long time ago, however. Luckily, I managed to learn her in XIII. Her damage output with HD combos were quite nice even without meter (although, I had to invest in a four gate for my arcade stick because of her charge inputs… using her on pad was also rather painful to say the least). In fact, she gets 700+ damage from 1 bar and a full drive upon taking advantage of the HD combo! I also enjoyed how well she could control the air, because of V-Slasher and because of the nature of her air normal moves.
(I also played her because more than a few people at offline events did not necessarily know the MU against her when I was still in Germany).
Yeah I’ve never been good with her myself, but being that I’m decent with Vice and Tizoc, I’m hoping they’ll carry me well enough until I can use her better in XIV(or if that doesn’t work I’ll use Robert, King, or Billy, of whom I know what I’m doing with, until I’ve got the hang of little ol’ miss Hiedern)
Due to circumstances, we weren’t able to get a KOFXIV demo available at NCR this year. With my source, whom is also the person who would have been the one to provide the demo for KOFXIV, SNKP would have allowed him to be the one in charge of providing the demo at NCR only and if only SNKP didn’t find a publisher for KOFXIV by the 21st. My source had the demo disc, but no PS4 dev kit to play it on. A Sony representative was supposed to come out and provide one to the event, but last minute plans changed as the Sony representative wasn’t able to do so since SNKP last minute found a publisher by the designated time on the 21st.
So good news, I guess: KOFXIV has a publisher that I honestly don’t know who it is.
Bad news: I didn’t get to play any KOFXIV this weekend.
So, I have a big feeling KOFXIV will be playable at EVO this year, and I’ll do my best to get footage and break down the game while I’m there. Sorry guys, and just giving an update on the situation.
Thanks for the update Laban. I’ve got a few requests if you’re willing:
Check if grounded CDs will still wall bounce mid combo, IE Leona St.D, BC, CD.
Check if rush can be BC canceled, IE A, A, A, BC, whatever.
Check advanced cancel properties in general, can you advanced cancel DM to DM, DM to same SDM, DM to Climax, etc.
Thanks ahead of time if you choose to sate my curiosity, otherwise thanks for offering to make vIds at all.
well say they release a new trailer each week, and reveal all the characters by May. not sure if that means it would be gold and launched in June. oh yeah I know they could still show a work in progress build at EVO without needing to be a finalized build.
not sure how their schedule is like for the network testing. would they do a closed beta invite? that sure helped UFC2, Dragonball Xenoverse and others. this could be the first KOF with a international network test. though who knows.
then there’s the matter of organizing the story mode. KOFXIII format is really cool, maybe KOFXIV will do something similiar, so they can effectively have a story with effecient format, without wasting money trying to do something AAA like MK9. a lot of the leftover budget should go to the online side of things.
and are fans requesting to SNKP for 3 players local co-op (3 controllers) and online co-op for story mode and arcade mode? that feature would greatly make KOFXIV stand out more, even if the mainstream see it as a gimmick, the co-op fans would make use of it more often than the 6 players versus, which I think could have lag issues. and with co-op and some unlockables for the hardest setting, that could give more incentive to play on hardest setting and co-op with others. co-op would add more dimensions to how KOF can be played without needing to overhaul the mechanics.
Also KOF XIV would then have the bragging rights to be the ONLY modern fighting game/PS4 game with story and arcade 3 players co-op, local and online.
