Being that they started Demoing it at a western expo, I think it’s very likely.
They had exhibition matches of XIII closer to it’s release. I think it’s likely we’ll see the same here. Since they’ll have a 20 chara build as of April that’s ready to show around, I’m sure they’ll want to get use out of it.
I wish they’d hit every Wed. NIght Fight, Friday NIght Fisticuffs, Saturday Night Showdown, and Monday Madness style fighting game anything with it. Ship Frio and MadKoF and the former Arcade Infinity guys a preview! Just setup everything possible.
And if it got pirated somehow (I’d kinda hope not?)… I mean, that’s pretty classic SNK! Really, NGBC pretty much is based off the story!
Chang still has random endings to his DM combo super, in 98 they all do the same damage but one ending can be followed up by another attack, whether or not he can still follow up in XIV remains to be seen. I’d be okay with random like that, but not so much with Shigo criticals where alot of damage changes on chance. Worse yet would be like Zappa, where you have to change gameplans depending on what was thrown out to you (no offense to Zappa fans, but I’ve never liked designs almost wholly dependent on randomness).
@ KensouADV:She needs a knife. jk. I’d prefer Nak with the hawk myself.
Changs super endings dont all do the same damage, go and see for yourself
Endings like the kick the standing belly press i think the slide and the roll do slightly more damage than the others like the front belly press and the flip kick
I’d hope the pachislot characters would POSSIBLY only have Pachi-stuff as cosmetics only.
If they did have to have some Random stuff like Shingo’s Crit hits, I’d just wish for some way to hit all 777s, either through a perk to MAX mode, or a separate buff super. Give me SOMETHING that takes away the random chances.
I wonder if they’ll try to integrate them into the universe. Could Miu Miu know Xiangfei? Could Love Heart have a few nods to Whip, or know the Lillien Knights?
Just wondering, what if the pillow child is actually a girl?
I mean with all the traps in KOF that were males that were assumed as females such as Ash, Shion, and to a lesser extent Boa, but there was never a reverse trap in KOF (King doesn’t really count, she was only clearly disguised as a male in her Art Of Fighting debut, after that she had a more feminine approach).
Plus they are referred to as child, so they aren’t necessarily specified as male or female.
And to differ from girls like Yuri and Alice who’d be tomboys with slight girly personalities (Sakura, Asuka, Mila) and King who is androgynous but still has a feminine face and voice (Naoto), The Pillow Child could be straight up boyish both appearance and personality wise (Leo).
I still think that the Pillow Child is a boy, but I wouldn’t say them being a girl is far fetched.
My bad I guess I just assumed they did. I know you could follow up kick in the corner, and that the variance isn’t really huge otherwise. The larger point is I’m ok with smaller amounts of random like that, rather than criticals and lottery summons.
Could be BB’s Platinum or Faust (?) with rotating tools that go by order as opposed to being completely random. Where a specific move/buff/effect will always be like 1>2>3>4>1 and so on.
Maybe it’ll be different toolsets? Like Injustice Nightwing/Wonderwoman where you’ll switch with an input and having 2 different movesets of normals and/or specials.
Sound’s reasonable. I have no problem with them or P4AU’s Teddie where there is a set rotation. That just requires planning and knowledge of the next “random” item to show up. If any of the Pachinko girls have a luck based mechanic I hope it isn’t integral to their gameplan and minimalizes the random factor.
@D3v:: Are you suggesting Nak gets no hops? And no EX moves?
@KensouADV: Yeah something like that … It doesn’t particularly effect her gameplan and the randomness is left to a single super. Xiangfei’s did a bit more damage (at least it did in 00 and 01, I don’t remember if it did during 02um) but it wasn’t something she needed to rely on.
No, I’m suggesting Nak get cross ups for days that you can’t AA/DP, dash that hops and acts as a cross up, safe slide, fast dive from bird, vortex, etc.
I know, I was just poking fun, as I assumed you were doing. I didn’t play competitively back in CVS1 days but I recall Nak’s glory. If you really want top tier Nak that’s cool, but recall she was partially made tops by the system she existed in.
According to the SNK Twitter page, the water fall stage is officially called the South America stage. This to me all but confirms team specific home stages.
