No i feel you on that. Kyo’s has a flick of the wrist thing going on and such, but maybe it’s just because we haven’t seen King and Billy being idle long enough in the trailers. The players playing all seemed very jumpity and anxious.
The fighting stances do seem more fidgety similar to what happened with a lot of the fighting stances in SF4. Overall they aren’t bad though just different cause we’re used to seeing more restraint conservative neutrel poses. Also the character models do look a lot better closed up which is good news given how early this build is. I’m still wondering wtf happened with kyo though.
It’s only on King because it’s a reference to her infamous reveal in Art of Fighting when you find out she’s actually a woman. It was a huge deal for her and her specifically and is a big part of SNK history. Now, in AoF everyone’s clothes ripped which added to the surprise, but you have to imagine that making it so that everyone’s clothes rip would require a lot of modelwork, programming, and animations especially for how huge the roster is. It might not be feasible to do it for every character. “But then why do it for King?” Because it’s a reference to SNK history, the AoF series, and was an iconic moment for King as a character.
If that’s not a good enough ansnwer to you then feel free to bounce. No one is gonna make you play the game and force you to see underwear.
Dude, i understand but we had this “reference” in 94 and XIII, we don’t need it again. If it’s too much work to do it for everyone then don’t do it for anyone. Simple.
I’m just saying that this may get a shit ton of negative reaction. Remember that people like Anita Sarkisian (or whatever her last name is spelled like) have a huge influence in the gaming market over here. Not only that but XIII did get a negative feedback from a big percent of the female players (as well as a few male) on this specific thing.
I myself don’t really like it but whatever.
Edit:
It would have been more justified if King did look like a feminine boy in this and that for the new players, it would be hard to see that it’s a woman otherwise but King is clearly a woman here.
Do you have numbers and sources for those “big percentages”? Because I don’t think you do.
Either way, the US has never been the main demographic for KoF games and it still isn’t. It doesn’t matter what political group is shoving their ideologies down everyone’s throat, the game is not for us and only us and is not catered to what feminists want the game to be like. If you don’t like it then go somewhere else. And it really is just that simple. It’s not going away and if you can’t deal with it then the game is not for you. If you can be an adult and tolerate things that you are not a fan of like the rest of the world, then maybe you’ll still enjoy the game.
Demo Vids 2, 5 and 12 were the best. I definitely liked the use of Advanced Cancel for Iori in Vid 5, landing the Yaotome and then cancelling into a Fireball Trap. That’s going to lead to some obscene stuff for him.
I don’t like how you keep saying “If you don’t like this specific thing in the game then don’t play it” everytime someone has something to complain about. I can complain if i want dude. I don’t like this and i remember people not liking this. I never said that this was a deal breaker it’s just something that i have an issue with just like the iddle stances.
Edit:
Also the US and western europe may not be the biggest consumers of KOF but the market here is very big. People here have alot of money and many young people spend that cash on games, winning here means winning big. So, yeah. How the western countries recive this game is important. Gaining fans here would be very advantageous for SNK.
For starters, Anita and people like her don’t have a huge influence. If anything there is evidence to suggest that the more outrage there is from people like her, the more people will support and buy the product out of spite and resistance. Also FYI, you flag post that violate the rules or spam. You don’t flag for having a opinion different then yours.
Not sure if I’d say it’s SFV slow, but the jumps do look to be slower. Kyo’s evasive action also looks slower, though that might be just the animation frames giving that appearance. Seems to be a current trend what with SF4/5 and GGXrd slowing things down as well.
Too sad with those bland graphics, game’s never gonna look anything other than a dollar store Street Fighter ripoff… Hope the gamplay’s alright, at least, it looks 100% KOF so far.
It’s not a big deal. So only she gets her clothes ripped, it’s not hurting anyone. Only a vocal minority (who isn’t buying the game anyway) would bitch about that.
I suppose you could say it’d be cool if everyone had it like in AoF2 but that’s another thing.
Jumping and hops in NeoGeo KoF really weren’t all that fast imo. I think they just seem slow compared to XIII
Yeah it’s really hard to judge the game’s speed without some compontent players. We have spectators literally bashing buttons in most of these videos. No one is utilizing combos or the movement effectively in a way that resembles typical KOF gameplay. This isn’t just for KOF though, every fighter looks like that without good players playing it.
I agree with the King clothes rip thing. I mean come on, at least make it an AoF-wide thing that happens to all of them, instead of just King.
I don’t know why Reogeo seems so eager to pull out the generic SJW buzzwords, but no matter which way you look at it, having the most conservatively dressed woman in the game get her clothes ripped off and lie there helplessly looks very sketchy. There’s really no need for that these days.
I also remember a lot of non-fighting game players hearing about King back in the XIII days and instantly starting to shit on KOF as a whole because of that. I don’t want that to be the only impression people have of KOF.
