They might have to work on Ioriâs coat a bit, or maybe make it that he throws it off at the beginning of a round. (Or burn like Krizalid lol)
*All fair points. Mature with a skirt, but still keeping a modern look (with an eyepatch) would fit her. Vice keeping the power suit feels like a must.
The power suit does suit Vices sadistic aesthetic more. I really missed Vice having the cutting kicks in 13. With how strong hop pressure was in that game tk cutting kicks and late hop cutting kicks would have been really really good. It didnât help that her normals were ass in 13. She would have greatly benefited from having her old far B and I donât know what the fuck they were thinking in giving her that horrific cr. C when most matchups characters would keep her out until they knocked her down and then abused her weak wakeup. Iâm really hoping they make her a complete character. *
*Mature in 13 was soooo good.
You can change whether the Despair hits same side or crosses up by delaying the time in your blockstring and allowing for more pushback. You can also change the string by alternating cr. b, st. b with cr b, cr. a. Or my personal favorite string in cr. b, cr. b, st b which lets you can play with the timing on the last string to alter whether you get two hits on st. b and then cancel into Despair, qcb b or rekkas. Despair after that string is variable as fuck, it sometimes crosses up but more times than not it hits in the front on medium sized characters that stands block. You can check the Despair with a quick anti air but if Mature goes for qcb B instead she counter hits you, is at an advantage and maintains pressure.
Or god help you if she went for rekka off of a delayed cancel instead, in that case youâre getting blown up for 30 percent and corner carried for a single drive cancel. Her mixup and trap game in 13 is legit really good.

@AT_Ryo_Sakazaki - Yeah, you always seem to find the best sources, so I didnât bother posting the ones I saw on twitter here too. Wasnât sure about some of those not being trailer-screen caps. Itâs good to see Tung apparently has his Shou Ha projectile from those screens, and all the extra moves of Chinâs that were not shown in the trailer.
@TheGoodLoser - donât think thatâs likely, theyâve done a good job of animating the coat during sweeps and such to mimic the animation of his long shirt in other KoFs. Maybe theyâll have alternate outfits for him, though. I do wish weâd see more âthrowing off jacketâ style intros in modern 3D games. Or crazy stuff like this:
I think he forgot he had them after FF2, heh.
Vice and Mature both still have suits. Although the design of the suits are very weird from what Iâm told, they reveal their shoulders as well as emphasizing their breasts. Also Mature doesnât have an eyepatch anymore.
Hmm, possibly because of the XIII ending? i mean why would she in Ghost form
I think itâs related to her orochi power. That seems to be a big theme in this game, Ioriâs orochi blood turns his eyes red when he does his DM, Leonaâs hair turns slightly red, and even in XIII Mature and Vice had giant red eyes pop up during their Neo Max.
some time the new characters are from old sketch and concept.
this is the original prison team

old Ryo redesign
Maybe the newcomer prisoner will be a knife fighter, Iâd be down.
And holy fuck that Ryo redesign looks sick. Pls let that be his new look, it would help make him a little less boring, which means a lot to me cuz to me, design is super important

Still feels weird knowing that they are both basically ghosts now. Itâs like if Street Fighter still had Goutetsu even though Akuma killed him. I do like the âMature no longer has an eyepatchâ detail, I think it ultimately hurt her design in KOFXIII
Though it would be cool if SNK made DLC costumes for characters, such as their classic dresses from previous games. Subtle yet sexy
SvC Chaos was the most badass SNK artwork.
âI fisted an Elephantâ Guile and âDeer in Headlightsâ Balrog beg to differ.
I really hope this game gets big in NA. It just keeps looking better and better every time I see it.
Perhaps the South American girl will be from Belize, since a Toucan is the national bird.
Are Chin and Choi really that popular amongst KOF fans?
Are Chin and Choi really that popular amongst KOF fans?
Maybe not in the US, but in other countries yes.
So we have 2 girls using birds?, one uses an eagle and one uses a toucan. Iâm Allright with this i guess.
Are Chin and Choi really that popular amongst KOF fans?
Like everything it depends how good they are, the better the character the more chances you have of being used, most people really donât give two fucks about using this type or that type, they use what they can get the most wins with
chin aint popular in the slightest but heâs decent in 13 you see alot of people use him in 13, chin is tops or one of in 96 you see alot of people use chin in 96
chin is shitty in 2k2 hence you never see anybody use chin in 2k2.
In fact those type of what some might deem unpopular characters being shit hurts them more, than say a kyo or iori being shit
Because chin aint no poster boy he does not have that gravitas
So i say no they are not that popular but they are important characters none the less, i mean itâs nice to have a good blend of different characters of different age ranges and styles, otherwise you just end with king of gackt fighters, and nobody really wants that shit
SAB-CA: What does SNK need to do to make KOFXIV have the skin texture quality of SFV.

As a example what more do they have to do.
@ReoGeoSRK - Probably just read a tutorial like This One, ha. Of course, they also need for such maps to work with whatever character lighting theyâre doing; Shaders that work with a global lighting set might produce different results when present with per-character lights.
Also depends on what their whole team can do. They have varied designers working on characters. One guy might be really good at certain texturing styles, but if the others arenât, thatâd mean theyâd have to either train the other guys to know it too, or forego the technique until some later time (like in a sequel or for some graphics update). During KoF XIIâs development, one of the guys who said he left the company mentioned the company not buying him books be needed to learn some things. Who knows what kind of budget theyâre on now? Even if they have money, getting stuff done on not 1, not 10, but 50 characters might just not be reasonable.
Actually Professor on Madmanâs cafĂ© mentioned something a day or so ago:
âOn a different note, it almost feels as though the 3D artists for KOF14 gave the glossy look to the characters on purpose to resemble the old-style pixel art from the earlier years. As many fans probably know, the first titles were developed by ex-Irem staffs so the characters had an almost metallic gloss to them, sort of like R-Type and other shmups.â
So who knows? The look they have might be exactly what they want, and they might not change it for anything!
Itâs all down to the lighting. The current lighting is a bit too âshinyâ which makes everything look a generation or two older.
