One of the graphical shortcomings of SFV is the low poly count background models that stick out like a sore thumb.
I hope the masked girl and the teenage singer donāt look like typical Chinese girls. Itās very rare to see a Chinese female character without the typical chinese female warrior outfit and hairstyle (looks at Chun Li, Ling Xiaoyu, Lei Fang, ect).
Mui Mui will likely fit that look, so hopefully the other 2 get more diverse looks.
Iām really happy SNK has decided to do screenshots per day it seems like. The only thing I would like to see now is a breakdown of the mechanics and movesets for the characters. Weāre still in the dark about how the game will play or the movesets of the characters. A demonstration per character wouldnāt even take that much time so I think SNK should consider that.
Iām more interested in characters like Alice, I expect her to have some of terryās moves but adding her own twist to them, kinda like a female shingo.
Iām seeing her as having a more āzonerā twist to Terryās moveset. Fullscreen powerwaves, a crackshoot that controls the air space, etc.
If sheās anything like her proto-design, Alice Chrysler, I can imagine her being a mix of Terryās and Kimās move sets. Ironically, Terry and Kim have the same voice actor. I always found that interesting since they sound really different.
For me, all I want her to do is play like 98 Terry with Kimās 98 dives and stomp cancels while the current Terry plays like MOTW Terry.
Prediction on how the new characters will turn out like
China Team:
1.Demon Boy:
Age 15-17. Will seem like your average teen guy although with extraordinary demon powers. Uses black flame.
2.Pillow Child:
Age 10-13. Will have a shota look. Will have a sleep boxing style, kind of like drunk fist but sleepy instead of drunk. Also pulls a pillow out for certain moves.
Womenā Team
3.Alice
Age 17. Has the same design as from the newest Fatal Fury Panchiko. Idolizes Terry and has a similar fighting style to him but which her own unique twist.
Official Team
4.Masked Girl:
Age 18-22. Will be the lead female of the arc. Related to the Demon Boy in some way. Never takes her masks off. Wears 3 different Bian Lian masks and when she changes them, she changes fighting styles.
5.Teenage Singer:
Age 15-18. She is a Cpop idol. Will have an archetype that is like Athena + Chizuru. Has an innocent look. Has an elegant graceful fighting style + uses electric element. Wears an idol dress and has a head mic.
6.Hooded Man:
Age 28-34. Is a bodyguard to the Teenage Singer. He cares for her very much, almost as if he was her father.
Kimās Team
7.Kimās Master:
Age 38-50. Is the typical āMasterā archetype. He will be handsome for his age. Will be a powerful TDK user. Wears half a GI top with the other half showing his buff body
8.Kimās Masterās Wife:
Age 27-32. Has a determined demeanor. Will use fast and acrobatic TDK. Is close with Kimās wife. Is dressed conservatively but has the biggest āmeasurementsā amoung the females characters.
South Town Team:
9.New South Town character:
Age 19-21. This character is female. Could be a gang related character who is a brawler. Has a punk look and is not feminine personality wise. Very loud and rowdy. Is Alice rival.
Prisoner Team:
10.Newcomer Prisoner:
Age 24-32. A Korean male, the leader and level headed one of the team. Likely uses a weapon too. Has a serious personality and strongly dislikes but chooses to put up with Chang and Choi. He along with the other two escape prison, him for a specific reason while the other two just want to espape. He has tattoos and comes off as an asshole. Also is average height which differs from Changās tallness and Choiās shortness.
South America Team:
11.Brazilian Ninja
Age 17-18. Is Afro-Brazilian and is like a male version of Ibuki from Street Fighter. Very rowdy and flirts with girls, although has āconfusingā feelings when near a certain male character in the game. While generally cocky towards other male characters and is a player around female characters, he is shy and akward around the certain male character (likely Benimaru)
12.Handicap Boxer
Age 28-31. Was a professional boxing world champion but broke his arm causing him to go on force retirment. Has a broken arm that he wears in a cast. Doesnāt want to stop fighting, so he joins the KOF tournament. He relies on the other arm to fight.
13.Pretty Latin Girl
Age 22-24. Is a sexy female with a āspicy latinaā attitude. From an island Hispanic country. Has a feminine version of an existing fighting style. Is exotic beauty and has brown skin. Looks like Jennifer Lopez.
Snk Entertainment The King Of Fighters XIV Geese & Alice
The website for Snk Entertainment is up and shows something interesting in terms of The King OF Fighters XIV. On the homepage their is an images that changes and at one time it shows Geese Howard in a white suit in a 3d model for the video development section. The images also looks to show rising storm or raging storm (it depends on which one they chose to go with as both phrases have been used to describe Geese trademark DM in video games) as well as another. Also the image shows Alice, Terry biggest fan. This is interesting as fans were wondering if she would appear or how she would look. So take that in while I show you a new screenshot of the King Of Dinosaurs aka Tizoc about to plant Kyo on the ground in a bad way.
So this Alice chick is basically Sakura from SF, idolizes Terry and has her own spin on his moves?
This further proves my point that terry and ryu are the same basic character and that terry is the true mascot for SNK.
No one knows how she plays yet because she hasnāt been announced.
