So with almost 30 days left to the countdown, what are you guys looking forward to in terms of the launch?
Being able to finished up the Hyper Guide with accurate, up-to-date information. Being able to beat people with my Dualshock pad instead of playing with stick and getting bodied. EX Kyo. Hopefully a unified, solid scene that actually plays the game instead of wishlisting, not playing on GGPO, and talking about color edits all day. Then maybe actually decent netcode.
I’d be lying if I did not say Color Edit haha.
Seriously, its pretty much the only thing putting it above getting MvC3 first for me.
I’m picking this up day one, it’s already paid for and preordered, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about the load times. You shouldn’t need to install a game to have it load in less than 30 seconds a round, no other game requires that and even when you do it rarely helps. I hope that the beta versions just have deceptively long load times, because if that is typical load time off disc there’s going to be a problem.
the betas weren’t optimized at all for load time iirc. it’ll be a lot better in the final, especially when you can install
They weren’t greatly optimized at all, clearly works in progress. I remember at EVO in a match against my friend I got a level 4 Dropkick off and it literally made the game slow down to 8 FPS. Other DM’s also made the game slow down quite a bit. The Atlus dudes knew about it though so I’m sure it’ll be dealt with in the retail release.
Not to discount your fears, but Tekken had horrendous loading times. It’s really just how the game is coded and how much data it has to process. This game’s won’t be that bad, but even if it has a little loading time, the option is there to take ALL of that away with installing the game. Either way, don’t let yourself get worried about it.
I can’t think of a game that had good load times without an install since PS2.
DBZ Raging Blast 2 had amazing load times. There’s not even enough time to play the mini game during the loading screen half the time.
Sounds like another 30 days of wait.
That’s still not confirmed! Don’t be discouraged!
I’m probably going to be playing some KOF XI during the wait.
I’m really looking forward to playing and learning KOF XIII. The game looks amazing.
the delay for north america is not confirmed, so wait for announcements.it might be something just Rising Star related.
KOF96 releases on Japan PSN this week, next week other regions might get it.
Quoted from DC by sibarraz. It’s lookin’ bad, man.
If the delay means they can make the game better, what’s there to be sad about?
Yea. There’s still that torrent copy out there…
Not that I condone torrenting games.
I think the sole reason why it’s being delayed is because of the PS3 version. This is because Sony has a dumb ass policy where each game that comes into the US from an outside developer must have some more of English dubbing option or no vocals what so ever. So, I think this is what’s forcing the delay. As much as I prefer the PS3 as a platform and its library, this is some dumb shit.
Yakuza is a PS3 exclusive and has english subtitles, original japanese audio ONLY when it comes to the states.
Capcom’s own internal policy is to have english dubs for their games when they release them outside of Japan.
OK cool, it’s just my mistake then. So, who knows if XIII will be delayed then and for what purposes.
Seems weird that retailers are switching dates and the consumers are left in the dark about if there is a date change.
