i really don’t care at all about online play… yes it’s good if u have great online but if online sucks i’ll travel to play good players… and i owned every title of kof since kof’94… and i’m buying this one too…
doesn’t matter if it has any other modes besides “vs, practice & options” …cause that’s all u need really… some local casuals and kofxii and i’ll be good to go…
cause so far i absolutely love the new SOLID gameplay style… love what they did to my Clark… and SNK wasted a long freaken time and poored their blood, sweat & money to create all the graphics in the game… when they clearly didn’t have to and have easier graphics like blazblue or sf4… which would probably allow them to add a bunch of unnecessary extra features that everybody is complaining about… this is a title they made out of their own love for KOF… & focused on 1 thing… the fighting system… and that’s what matters the most in a fighting game… not extra features, online, soundtracks or bonus video stuff…
I’m going to agree here with teh mastaroth simply due to the fact that SNK/Ignition did spent 18 months hand drawing for each character, so that right there is some serious dedication.
Most of those titles weren’t done in house either.
Maximum impact was done in house and it turned out quite good.
And on top of that i was talking about netcode with the nextgens. Netcode is different from system to system ya know.
I think that’s bullshit. It’s a product, not a class project. You don’t get hugs and kisses for doing substandard work. Why are people even mentioning the amount of money they put in to this project like it fucking matters? It’s not a handout. They’re doing this for a profit, you remember that part when you paid about 70 dollars for it?
This would be inexcusable in any other genre. Absolutely unacceptable-- imagine if Call of Duty 6 came out with three guns and four maps. Or Madden 2011 comes out with half of the teams missing. There would be rioting, but in the fighting game community we’re so fucking delusional that we think these companies are our buddies or some shit and we let them slide with this crap all the time. SNK had made over 20 million us dollars and you think they really can’t hire one or two more asians who know how to user computers? Are you serious.
so i just bought this today at a gamestop and yea, while the game plays like it’s old glory prime (was it really necessary to yank out alot of characters specials? such as ralf and kim), menu navigation is just dumb can’t even directly exit to main menu from character select screen and have to go through all the loading to do so.
do feel that this game should have been priced at $50 instead of $60…
I do ponder why the reviewers giving mixed to negative reviews just cuz it’s a rehashed game (quoted saying uninteresting characters and bland gameplay). metacritic shows a official XBM website review on it as an example
I was just giving my first impressions. I enjoy the gameplay, but the production value is not there in any aspect. I think as fans we are all being a little to forgiving here. Because of the alck of content and shotty menus, it’s going to get mixed reviews. This is a shame because fighting games are hot right now. I wanted KOF to be really popular, but I don’t see it happening.
All that a side gameplay is what matters. It plays well. I look forward to delving into it.
When Capcom decided to outsource ST to Backbone, it gave Capcom a strong reputation for letting Backbone make the game more fun and give us the greatest fighting game console netcode of all time.
But when SNKP decided to outsource their games to some Chinese Company, they gave us the most shittiest netcode and made the fans not trust SNKP since they don’t care about their fans and won’t do anything to fix it.
Examu was another company that lost its reputation when they decided to port Arcade Heart 2 for the PS2 which was the most stupidest decision ever since the PS2 could barely handle Arcana Heart 1!
It sucks because I really love Garou and 98UM and was so excited to finally play against people online and it all went down the crapper!
2002UM for XBLA is going to get the same crappy treatment!
i got my copy earlier today i haven’t put it down since offline the game is great actually the game looks better on an SD tv than an HD tv. Online however game is great if u have a blue bar connection, yellow the game can be smooth or it can be choppy, and i haven’t even touched red bar connections. but the patch is coming so all we gotta do is wait
