KOF XII - Kim Kaphawn thread

I’m not sure if this is asked before, but could Kim pull off his Hou’ou Kyaku in the air like in the older games?

i will. but i personally feel that the 1 dm for most characters and lot of moves missing (ony 2 for clark?) make it feel like it could have been better with just a lil more effort. ill stil be buying it though.

Could someone confirm doing Kim’s qcb+kick midair from his backdash?

Like I said, wait for the console version. You never know if there’s going to be a EX characters, new moves, or an arranged mode.

That would be great, too, having a solid arranged mode. I mean, to some degree, I don’t mind characters losing moves (I always felt like many KOF chara’s had too many moves that achieved the same purposes, with proper players, anywho), but some of the losses are just… strange. For Example, I’d LOVE to Clark to get his running throws back, at least to the Rolling Sobat part. And if you don’t want to give every character Another DM, at least give them a variation, such as making DMs down in CCs have special SDM animations, Or make Weak/Strong variations that change use and/or animation.

But yeah, I hope for the console release, that this game goes through “Refinement”, even moreso than “enhancement”. Man, I still wanna see Terry lose his hat after getting KO’d! Add in a few special Intros, maybe stage intros like in 94 and 95, and at least some KOF Staples like Esaka and a solid Mexico Stage. Sprucing up the basics could be a great way to add to the game, without having to make a huge TON of extra characters, for example.

if they actually just added at least 1 extra dm per character and maybe an extra move here or there id be more than happy. getting an actual boss and maybe some ending and artwork and all that shit is a big bonus IMO. as stale as this kof is they should be adding a fuckoad of extras to justify it, i wanna be entertained for waiting so long for a really new kof. i mean i have been seeing the same sprites since 94.

Trust me man, I REALLY want to see Clark buffed and others get some others as well.

But we’re getting outta topic here. This is the Kim Kaphwan thread btw. So, are the dive kicks good in this game or what? Haven’t seen them in action in any video so far.

is his DM comboable by any chance? Like as in a juggle?

DM combos off crouching C -> CD anywhere on the screen

also fast enough to combo off light attacks, like cr. B, cr. A xx DM

is kim safe after having his dive kick being blocked?

He gets to do another air attack on the bounceback, Fatal Fury Special-style. I think…

-ahem- I’ve always loved Kim’s Phoenix Kick. So I have no prob with him having 1 DM!

So he can do another attack after hsi dive kick, eh? Can he do his new Air Move out of it, too? Should be a great way to discourage people jumping after him, if it’s possible.

  • qcb + K in air

after

  • f, f + D
  • when he bounce back from qcf K in air
    can’t do it if your opponent guard it, qcf K must hit the opponent

You can do standing(N)|+B, d+B, d+A, Hien zan. Most ppl expect you to start a combo like this crouching. N+B has a hit-box that will make contact w a crouching opp, so they can’t punish w a low attack. A nice nice little variation, If I do say so myself:bgrin:

Couple of quick questions:

How’s Kims standing A? Is it still a good poke?
Can he still combo cr.A -> s.C?
Is jumping A still a crossup?
Is his sweep cancelable?

Is this really his best CC combo?

And can you definitely not combo his FF+D after a CD attack?
