Well that depends really a lot of the time KOF in America gets thrown into an old HAPP cabinet and they almost always use an Octo gate. But KOF is usually played on candy cabs, and they usually have square gates. That is why most people have been getting Hori sticks and Madcatz sticks, they want to play it how it’s set-up on the Japanese cabs.
All Japanese cabs are equipped with either Sawna or Seimetsu parts. I had a hard as heck time adjusting to the square gate, but IMO I feel it’s better. Japanese parts move a lot smoother and don’t resist your movements as much as Happ parts.
But quite honestly it’s personal preference, most pro’s can play on anything really. But they all have their favorites. Hope this helps.
