Cheap knock-off stick IIRC.
Looks to be a nice size though.
Probably medium difficulty to mod to full-arcade spec.
Thanks for that, this will be my first mod so I’m a bit apprehensive with this particular stick, the only soldering experience I have is modchipping Saturns…
I had a quick go on Mushihimesama on 360 and the case is fairly solidly built but as you can imagine the buttons are crap. Below is an internal shot:
Funnily enough I managed to buy 5 of these for practically nothing from a carboot sale in the UK, so if I royally fuck up one it’s not gonna be a huge loss.
The board doesn’t appear to be common-ground.
Since the stick & buttons are connected via ribbon cables, you can use a pair of terminal blocks to connect them without soldering.
Mark down the signals for the ribbon cable, then snip off at the button/stick PCB end.
Rip out the old buttons/stick PCB and buttons.
Wire the ribbon cables into terminal blocks.
Wire your new arcade-spec buttons/stick into same terminal blocks.
Since there’s probably no mounting bracket on that metal panel, you should probably use Seimitsu LS-32 (NOT LS-32-01!) or LS-33 sticks since they have a shorter shaft.
The button layout is strange. Hmm…
Looks like you got a great deal.
Try to see if the stick is the same as the one in the Virtua Stcick HSS-0136. If it’s mounted the same way, you could just drop in a LS-33/55/56(-01) in there.Though you might have to say goodbye to the artwork.
Stick looks to be the same form factor as the one in later HSS-0136’s. Might be easy to swap it with a Seimitsu.
