I got this last Saturday, and I’m enjoying the hell out of this. Right off the bat this felt like what MI SHOULD have been like, and I’m going to try starting weekly tournments in the Fall semester.
Impressions so far:
- The person who decided to have the Japanese/English voice option deserves a medal.
- Fio makes me want a Metal Slug team for the next KOF sequel. Just to play Fio in another game.
- I love the improvements and return of old moves to characters. So much that I hope SNK adds them to the series. (Especially those to Mai and Terry.)
- Jivatama was a pleasant surprise. He’s more like a Kain from Garou, not OMGWTFBBQ like that bastard from KOF2001 or Murakumo from Akasuki on Vahall. I enjoyed being able to straight up fight him.
- I am abusing the camera mode and profile too much lol.
- “Me Bouncy!”
- This the first time I actually could play B Jenet. And she’ll will never look hotter to me than she does here lol

Just one question: Does Luise have some kind of special counter when she’s hit? On the Maniac difficulty, she would suddenly break or spin through one of my combos into a counterattack of her own, usually that throw special into the laser. It isn’t a sudeki, it’s like the computer goes “No more hitting” and goes through whatever I’m doing.
Get this down because Reg A is fast approaching!
Terry Bogard is a freakin’ beast in this game. Poke with WK, HK, HK, QCF + HK, supercancel QCFx2 + HK… Jeebus, does this guy ever let up?
BTW, there’s already a thread on GameFAQs about this, but has everyone noticed all of the awesome “tribute” outfits yet? (Ex: Geese’s Goenitz outfit and Soiree’s Eddy Gordo outfit.) Seems like there are a ton of 'em, including these I found last night:

I’m a Rock and Mignon user as of late. OTG combos off any sweep are fun to pull off especially if they don’t breakfall fast enough. Details if you want them posted.
Anyway, we’re holding a Las Vegas tournament for the game in the future so we will probably post up YouTube videos of our matches again. Our old tournament matches were posted up already on YouTube if you search for them.
I played Lily And Billy Kane last night. I never thought I’d see a day where I’m considering using Billy on a team, but damn he kicks ass here. I have to say Billy’s better for the offensive/punisher type of player, while Lilly can murder you defensively with her swooping cranes and Counter special. I also unlocked Wild Wolf Terry, man what a beast he is.
I’ll check the costume fanservice list later, but I laughed how much Billy’s white Another Costume reminded me of those pain in the ass soilders from Gungrave: Overdose.
I’ve been down for this game since it came out, but it gets little to no love where I’m at.
So, Regulation A is getting a US release?
I’m going to buy a kitten and kill it if I have to unlock all those costumes again.
I finally beat EM 8-10! I used K’ (he’s my main now) and spammed wk, sk, wp, sp, DPM+sp (could’ve followed up with the additional f+sk->qcb+k, but as I tend to do, forgot about that command). K’s breadnBUTTer.

I just picked this game up, as I was actually a fan of the first one. Thought it was a great mesh of 2d and 3d mechanics and found it to be entertaining despite its brokeness.
Im disapointed that ALL of the hidden characters are model swaps, but its nice that they have varying special moves. In Tekken, its usually JUST a model swap with one or two different combo strings.
It’s a new version of KoF 2006. Same game with new characters(4). Also they took away Armor Ralf from what I hear. So far the four characters are Ash, Blue Mary, some female relative of Dou Lon(sp) and someone else.
Weren’t a selection of moves reworked as well?
