There was one posted earlier in here I think. It’s not really official though.
Not really, but we’re trying to stir up some discussion here:
yeah I saw that but there has been enough debate over it to trust that tier list or not. No one has said anything about it yet
There aren’t any unlisted moves.
The move you’re thinking of is “Break Time” d+C+D(hip drop), C+D(stance). From there there’s 4 followups IIRC. I haven’t played in a while but I remember that shit.
So…has there been ANY tournies for this game in America yet?
I wanna throw one in the next Charlotte tourney, but I was just wondering if and how other tournies for KOF 2006 have played out yet?
How should it be played?
I’m starting to think that the 3 -on-3 Team Battle might be better and more balanced for tournies than 1-on-1 character matches.
I think 3 on 3 is probably going to be standard. What’s your take on Armor Ralph?
I think he’s too overpowered or broken to be allowed. =\ For reasons stated earlier in this thread.
Armor Ralf and Jivatma I know are to be banned.
But are there any others?
Guess I’m ignorant on the topic, but why ban Jivatma?
(I really haven’t played him or against him enough to know.)
on another topic, has anyone started to explore Luise’s x3 air dash (In 3D) and associated attacks?
banned should be Armour Ralf, Jivatma is fine, he’s not even that good, if you’re going on boss assumption the reason the boss does so much damage is they scale his damage up and yours down in story mode, the player version of Jivatma has to rely on his stretchy normals and throw giant fireball all the time to avoid getting rushed down
new tier list coming in a few minutes, talking with some people about it first
new tier list
ss - armour ralf, richard meyer, mr. karate
s - billy kane, lilly kane, kula diamond, athena asamiya, luise meyrink, iori yagami,
mai shiranui, maxima, alba meira, seth, fio germi, kim kaphwan
a - bonne jenet, duke, classic kyo, kyo kusanagi, leona heidern, lien neville, nightmare geese howard, chae lim, ralf jones, clark steel, yuri sakazaki
b - nagase, hanzo hattori, terry bogard, wild wolf, ninon beart, K’, jivatma, hyena
c - mignon beart, ryo sakazaki, soiree meira, rock howard
richard meyer - the insanity of repeated hyperhop B,B + best low string to overhead mixup and OTG combos in the game…this fool became the new seth
mr karate - his unblockable guessing game is TOO fucked up
billy and lilly went down because they’re getting predictable…of course they’re still deadly as hell though
something to try with iori - activate counter/blood riot super, C,C, 214Cx3, cr.D X 2098432093583
mai’s 2,2+C seems to beat everything, slow ass kachosen, crazy high low mixup and hyperhop to air dive make her really good
alba, seth, fio and kim / chae have the best OTG games in the game after richard - special mention goes to Kim having OTG Phoenix Dance x3 for some fucking reason ( caused a big wtf at AUSA for me )
yuri went up super high because she has this crazy wall to wall knuckle loop i can’t figure out how to do, but it’s in japanese match vids
what made K’ go down?
mostly the fact that he has problems with everyone above him…a few examples
he cant really do much about jenet for one, she can just throw safe fireball and force him to be defensive, which a good K’ should never be forced to do, and the minute she catches him with her midscreen loop it’s pretty much over
duke beats K’ on the premise of autoguard, so do the kusanagis, they can just wait for K’ to make one mistake and take away half his life…K’ just isnt as deadly as he was in the first MI because they took away his multihitter hyperhop pressure game ( and gave it to richard O_o ), but even if he had it, duke and the kyos have a million ways to take away half your life for hyperhopping at the wrong time
leona has frame advantage over almost everything K’ does but DP, he has to basically DP her or get D throw as much as possible, and a good Leona isnt gonna let K get in randomly to do it…plus her slasher moves are insane priority wise and all lead to half your life being gone
lien still has unblockable i think , and the minute she gets K’ to be defensive the match ends because she’s going to keep knocking him down and setting up laser traps
nightmare geese actually isnt that bad a matchup for K’, the only problem is K’ has very little ways of dealing with geese’s overhead and command throw setups, but Geese shouldn’t jump around to much lest he get owned
chae, ralf, clark, and yuri are all pretty much out to land their ridiculously painful BnBs on K’ in that particular matchup, which is easier said than done for clark and chae than ralf or yuri, but like i said all it takes is one mistake
K’s problems lie in the fact that Ein Trigger is not nearly as useful anymore, he lost his hyperhop game, and a lot of his normals and specials lose to things they probably shouldnt lose to now
Got it.
Where’s frame data for this?
eh…gotta ask…
hyper-hop, is that the same as small jumping?
(still getting used to SNK terminology here)
hyperhop is super-smalljump
the notation would look like = 29 or 19 (forward jump) or 27 or 37 (hyperhop backward)
I remember reading that Lien’s unblockable was gone from this game. That could have been wishful thinking on someone’s part, I haven’t tested it.
Kula has been my main team member since I started. I try to either have her as the lead off or the last character on the team depending on the set of matches possible. Who do you consider to be the worst match ups for her? So far, only Athena has presented a consistant issue for Kula and that’s largely due to her mobility
I’m currently using Kula, Duke, and Alba as my main team. Duke tends to stay the 2nd character in the set as he tends to clean up any mess left by the other two nicely.
My main team tends to be Iori, Luise, and Billy/Lilly. I haven’t tried Richard Meyer or Mr. Karate very much. Also why is Soiree so low on that list, he seems like a half-decent character at least (especially when Hyena is above him).
I was wondering that too. Soiree plays very much like Richard but has far better supers at level 1.
Kim has been all I used so far in KoF 2006, and I’m having problems doing some of his OTG…and super in general on the controller.
I’m conptemplating using my arcade stick to play this game…I thought using the pad would be helpful.
