I loved this game, best soundtrack IMO. Followed by 99 and then 95.
Yes, I forgot to mention that this game has a GREAT soundtrack.
broken piece of shit. along with 95 it has some of the best bgm in any kof, also some of the best bg’s ever in a kof. the sprites where first updated for this game. all that being said, i returned the game within a week after its release and got back to playing 95 again till 97 came out. its one of the few kofs thats almost as shitty as 94.
What are some possible juggle combos in this game? I know Kasumi can do:
HCF+:snkc: next to opponent–>QCB+P
What else is possible?

Have a look at this CMV, posted on youtube a few days ago. Might give you some more ideas.
96 and 98 are my favorites, I’ve played 94-98. KoF XII looks good, but lacks my favorite SNK character King.
96 was a big step for the KoF series in terms of gameplay because they simplified a lot of the motions for the specials and supers and rolling was added. The series also had more characters than ever to that point. But the game was terribly broken. 97 is the better installment in the series because it added more special and super moves and added the extra and advanced modes, which gave the game more variety.
i do remember in 96 a lot of the moves are basically safe when they are not supposed to be.
the block push back was crazy.
It’s funny to me how on the 3rd entry of most SNK games, they rather were focused on the aesthetics.
96 is one of the best looking for sure. but in terms of gameplay, man it was lacking so much. 97 and 98 got the shit done right.
one thing i didnt like about games AFTER 97, thus 98 and them where the miss animations for special throws. yamazaki had more trouble actually hitting his grab than doing the miss animation. unlike his 97 self, which kicked ass in all sorts of ways (yeah broken at times, but that didnt mean theyd have to fuck the throws up).
I loved this video…thx!
i’m back with a little question about this game:
why a lot of ppl think that clark is top tier?
i cant see why… i think there are better chars than him
My team is ralf,choi,chang.
That’s because they suck ass LOL! Clark is good but so is everyone else barring Vice. Honestly, I’d put Daimon over Clark but they are both interchangeable for different matchups.
That being said, tops is, and will forever be: Iori and Mature.
Those two for sure… but i think also Chang could be there. I mean, the big guy is protected as hell and his damage is quite good.
Nah…Chang has too many problems vs fireballers, especially mid level fireball throwers. Not to mention the many fucked up combos that only work vs him that are pretty easy to set up in this game. Choi gives him MASSIVE problems as well.
If I HAD to pick a 3rd for tops, I’d go with Choi. So fast yet so damaging…You don’t even need meter with him at all. Just jump around and dive kick all day until you get a cross up. His dive kick has more priority than most DPs and it had little to no recovery making it ideal as a combo starter and general nuisance. Tack on a uppercut claw and watch the blood and carnage.
His whole game is to run away from you or relentlessly overwhelm you with that dive kick or retarded good pokes.
one of the worts kofs ever from a gameplay perspective. 95 was WAY better imo. kof didnt get to the kof we know till kof 97, the first real kof (like the kofs of now).
Great. Now GTFO. No trolling, please.
STFU, i only read few posts on the first page without realizing this was an old thread.
You don’t like the game, then don’t post. Simple as that. He didn’t ask for opinions.
Chang has prob vs fireballers (as always though), but he does a quite big damage (in max of course). About the combos against him… i still cant find a person who landed one to me (ok, i dont play it so often since mostly nobody plays this game :°°° so i dont have so much experience abou that).
Choi is really a pain in the ass… i like him (when i use him… i dont like to have choi as opponent though ahah)!
