KOF 13 FREE For PS+ Subscribers

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/10/08/playstation-plus-update-king-of-fighters-xiii-free-for-members/

I had only been an observer of this game, but since its free I might as well dip my feet into it and see how hard it really is to play this game. As a note for those not familiar with PS+, as long as you remain subscribed you retain the rights to all games you download through the service. So the game remains free as long as you stay a PS+ member.

Very good news and very smart move ( own copies on both systems but still )

I really hope it gets more people to try out the game. If only SNKP would put out some word on something other than mobile phone and Pachinko games…

im planning to just sign up for the 3 month playstation plus to get this digital copy on my hd, it will save me alot of time switching between kof xiii and other games. espcially when i play the game at least 2 -3 hours everyday. also might grab the dlc now since the price is more reasonable. hell might just download some free ps plus game while im at it. too bad i miss the free borderlands plus deal

I downloaded it, and i LOVE IT!

I downloaded it and I’ve been interested for ages, but I’ve always had poor thumbdamentals anyway so never dared to buy it.

I actually really, really like it. Thanks in part to natural feel and “the beginners incomplete guide” I feel I understand the flow of the game and enjoy it, which I could never do in sfxt. Execution can come with time. Biggest enemy now is my internet, but this game is making me want to upgrade my provider.

Rocking King/Benimaru/Shen. Psn quackendriverV but unless you live in NY or have a great east coast connection it might not be great.

Awesome news. 2 more days for EU.

I downloaded this and may give it a try because of a really healthy KOF scene in Chicago. What are some good characters for beginners that teach fundamentals of the game?

Terry, Kyo, Robert, Andy, Athena, and Kula

Those are pretty easy characters to start off with.

I’d also like to add King to the list of possibilities. She has incredibly easy hitconfirmable combos that lead to solid damage and a solid projectile/zoning game. Her only real weakness at the starting levels is weak anti-air.
Ralf is also a pretty good starting block for those coming from a SFxT or SF background: as many of his combos involve links (not nearly as difficult as SF ones) and a strong footsy/zoning game with good long range pokes.

As a Bob player in SFxT, I found Ryo and Kensou to be useful early too due to the stress they place on blockstrings and in the case of the former, good long range pokes in addition to it.

I’m not from the more recent street fighter games, but if you can draw comparisons from these games, more power to you. It’s very good to draw comparisons with characters you’ve played before. I do have to agree that if you’ve played street fighter games in the past, Ryo and Kensou are up your alley.

Well I was talking more to WiredGod, because I’ve seen him around the SFxT boards.

I also think establishing connections between games is very important. SFxT was my first real fighter (strange huh?) and I sucked really bad at it. But then I played Persona and later KoF13, and as I learned them I made connections among all three in style, strategy, etc, and I’m better in all three games for it.
