Hello fighting game fans my name is Jae and I am currently working on a fighting game called the Kings of Kung Fu. I am a indie game developer and this is my first game. The footage and screenshots you see are only a result of about 5 months or work, so the game is very very early in production and things are subject to change. The game is basically a love letter to the kung fu cinema genre I am a huge fan of kung fu films and fighting games. I am currently making the game myself and recently decided to launch a kickstarter to raise funds to hire professional help. It would mean a lot to me if you guys could check out the game and support if you can. The game is only on early alpha prototype stage so it is a bit rough but will improve in time. Below is the official kickstarter link you can visit for more info and the teaser trailer.
Looks pretty slick from a visual standpoint.
I’ll pledge a couple bucks and keep an eye on this project.
Coming from one Kung Fu cinema nut to another, I wish you luck and success with this project.
In a few months there will be a beta available. More info on the game will be released in the upcoming weeks and months. It’s pretty tough doing this alone and production has slowed down now that I have to promote the fundraising campaign.
Question for @jaelae , since you’re using UFE, are you using traditional, static hitstun or the option which automatically computes hitstun values based on a set frame advantage value?
As I was reading further I saw that you intend on putting weapons in the game ala soul calibur/mk…Don’t want to criticize your decision but I think that this game with no weapons would be even more unique. Also, usually with weapons games usually fuck up hard (mk) or they come out fine (soul calibur). Was wondering what you guys think on this situation?
Well I thought of implementing the weapons sorta like how tekken 6 has special weapon moves or even King of combat where the Bruce Lee inspired character used nun chuks on special attacks.
