He does it using a hex editor(Macros but, its like programming it to a program), Kyo combo is just dash forward with down C, In extra mode. Anymore questions?
Anyone got tiers? I got a lot of impressions Daimon is top (good thing since he’s my main). In fact, I went back and started playign again today and realized he’s got the qcb+B bug, making for retarded combos.
hop D, c.D, qcb+B, dp+A, hcf+C, range depending. Half health for like retardedly easy work. He gets the qcb+B combo off s.CD, df+C (against airborne opponent), and c.D all range depending. I <3 daimon. Anybody got other strats with Daimon? Other than whore s.far.B and s.far.D all day? Also, all his lights and all his jumping normals tick into hcbf+C, while s.close.C and D combo into HCBF+P.
Yea, You can also use dp+B, or dp+C. Tiers are…(Not to sure on some of these)Iori, EX Terry, O chris, Shermie, Athena, and billy.
For Tiers in KOF 98, O. Yashiro (for real he owns in this game), Goro, RB2Terry, Iori and 95 Ryo are for sure Top. Near Top are Blue Mary or Kyo for example, some even say they also belong to the Tops and would throw out RB2 Terry. I woudn’t do this, because one s.C,f+A, hcf+B, Rising Tackle is to good or c.B, c.A, d/f+C, Rising Tackle. He is a damage Monster and you don’t need meter with him, plus Terry’s pokes are dope (c.B and s.B for example) and the Rising Tackle has lots of autoguard frames.
Athena is only annoying, she lacks some later intruduced moves and the better run away game from 2002 for example. Billy is no way Top, he lacks some fast pokes, good combos and the priority of a lot of his stuff isn’t hot either … He also has way less autoguard compared to other chars. O. Chris is weaker then the normal one, which is btw a great char in KOF 98, so no point in putting him in the Top ranks. I also never heread why Shermie should be Top Tier (is pretty slow, lacks some really good pokes and combos, ok her grab range is good, but that’s it) and I never encountered a really good Shermie player anyway. Maybe you can explain this to me, so I change my mind about her.
Damn all this brought me to the point to play a bit KOF 98 again …
Man, I haven’t been in a gameplay discussion in forever.
Chris is definitely top tier owing to pokes, speed, mixups and that dp+P grab. O.Chris is slightly weaker overall, but has good things going for him too (the autocombo hcf+K, close C->f+A->Orochinagi).
Shermie’s higher mid to mid, so is Clark. Good range, some good normals (crouch C, close C, f+B) and C+D’s, but yes, lacking in speed and some normals are bad (A, far C). She can win quite nicely though, I should know.
I think the O.Yash and Daimon being top tier produced the illusion that all grapplers are top tier for this game.
EX Terry is retarded with that Fire Kick that can be followed up with a Rising Tackle. Used in a combo it takes off a lot of life, around a third I think. EX Ryo is at top too IMO. Seriously SF2-level of shotoness there.
Other strong characters (to my estimation) are Chang, Iori and Benimaru (not stupidly powerful like his '97 incarnation but almost).
Iori has that unblockable, Which is bullshit.
Fireball -> Scumgale as the fireball is travelling? Athena has something like that too iirc. Fireball-> hcf+P grab whiff. Or do a fireball during wakeup. If the opponent gets up at the same time the fireball reaches his or her back, he or she will get hit.
athena is a cheap whore. She also has one thats qcf A/C dash all the way back, throw a C fireball, Teleport with D qcf A/C. Over and over.
you can throw her out of the teleport you know… And all characters have a guaranteed escape for the fireball. Daimon’s is best though, DP+A hhaa. Anyone got a “how to use…” guide for o. yashiro?

cr.a cr.a f-k super, cr.b cr.a f-k super…his f-k has really long reach, so use it well as a cancel or for guard strings
if you trade when using a genocide against someone in the air, godpress / giga
cant really help you on any good mixups or spacing games

just learn his cr.b strings, like 4-5 hits with any of the cr/st a/b into f-a then followup
close c/d dp c
shadow (down, down, punch) dp C into CD or SDM
ch ground pound into close/jumping d (not really that practical)

Ok…I see that you ask too many times for combos about all sorts of characters. Have you actually tried going into practice mode (assuming you have an emulator) and testing out what characters can do? And I don’t know about you but discovering combos (especially in combo-heavy games like KoF2000 or 2002) is quite fun by itself.
Hmmm, I should really get into this game more…I have been repeatedly told that this game is better than 2002, but I’m not seeing it (not to mention these unblockable glitches I’m hearing about).
