King of Chinatown Documentary - Justin Wong - Empire Arcadia

You’re right. We can’t fully let it go because while it was oh so ridiculous, it hyped things up even more. anyway, lets not derail this topic.

You need to talk to Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin. They will absolutely be interested.

Definitely contact the “South Lamar” and “Ritz” locations.

If you do not receive a direct response, I will get you in touch with the right people. PM me if that’s the case.

Thank you very much for this contact. I’m looking for alot of these throughout the US. Theaters like this will allow me to get it to both the community and the mass public.

Granted I know its about Justin but most of the fighters that I seen on there (minus Gootecks) are from the east coast but yet they call it king of chinatown. Why not call it king of new york?

just my two cents

new site going up tommorrow, fixed some issues with the trailer, also in the middle of making a youtube channel. It’s going to be big guys… like coming to a theater near you big

Can’t wait to watch it. It was good seeing you guys at EVO.

BELLEVILLE NJ!!! you will definitely being seeing it at Montclair NJ, I used to live in Belleville. Love your Hold Dat quote by the way. I say that to him every time i see him.

Please comment and rate! It’s slightly updated. Please spread.

Yeah I’ll be sure to go watch it.

Hold Dat is a good friend of mine and one of the funniest people i know. :wgrin:

sad that you dont release it on dvd or stream … perhaps you should think a bit about the international community :frowning:

rofl…Triforce…Can’t stop laughing…GREATEST Homo-sapiens…ROFL…OMG…So this is a comedy right?

Anything that guy says is to be taken in a comedic way.

Chinatown Fair is probablly the only “real” arcade left in this city where people play competitively…

I enjoyed that trailer ilmatic… good stuff… there were few shots that had weak audio…not sure if you guys are able to bump it up without distortion… but otherwise it was 7/10 for sure
i’ll be waiting to see it and good luck with distribution - theater release. If all fails there is always dvd(its very inexpensive to print/replicate dvds yourslef now, i have funded both of my films and made it all back)

Here are some tips: If you already know this stuff, you are ahead. If not, take it into consideration as it will help sell your film better and possibly get you better distribution. Think big picture.

Subtitles are a must : Japanese, Spanish, French

Region free

Make a kick ass DVD cover, make it full of color - cover is even more important than the movie just like the audio, but i’ll get to the audio a bit later.

Put your trailer/s and short clips all over the net, i mean everywhere(vimeo, youtube, ifilm, facebook fan page, twitter, myspace, google video…etc) you can find. Always put a watermark and info where the movie can be found/bought - meaning your website.

If you end up having some screenings, make sure you save all the info from them and or links, that will help you add your film to IMDB. IMDB is very important to film guys likes us, not everyone can get on there just so you know.

Make sure when you get the dvd made, you test it and make sure it works in all the players etc. I have a nubmer and email to a guy who checks dvds for big studios for compatability. He has checked both of mine after i made a mistake the first time around by not going through him.

Dont bother with copy protection - it expensive and it doesnt work.

I also have a number to a DVD replication place that I use - they do the print and everything. I have used them for both of my films and they are awesome, they can do blu ray as well if you need it, but its super expensive. Obviously DVD is the way to go still. And having shot HD the dvd will look awesome.

Audio is also very important so make sure the audio is spot on, actually audio is more important than the content itself. If audio is shit, it doesnt matter whats on the screen, keep that in mind.

If you have any other questions, email me.

cheers

Cant wait to see

I usually just read the posts rather than posting myself. But I noticed some one mentioned the Alamo Draft House in Austin so I had to say something  You can count on me and a couple of my buddies being there when/if you get a showing at the draft house.

Can’t wait to see this, but I’m sure this will bring out more hate on Justin. Hopefully his showing at EVO will down grade the some of the hate…

For the DVD’s cover we need Jwong walking away from a huge explosion or something.

I’ll try to show it in a few theaters around the work f I can generate interest. Subtiling would be a great idea.

I am going to call the Alamo draft house after I get done of this weeks final shooting
