Sick Burn, bro.
So it’s not ok to point something out in a negative light while being constructive.
You’d rather I just call him a scrub at message boards? That’s be fine?

him as in me??
Don’t take an exaggeration personally.
I’m not calling you a ‘scrub’.
Is EMP really that horrible though? As one mentioned and as many know, they actually have/had the sickest players, and didn’t Jwong stick with him for years, so he can’t be that bad. Sanford, Yipes, Perfect legend (I believe), Arturo, Jwong, etc, amazing players and I doubt that all of them are just stupid and blinded and just thought ‘‘omg omggomgomsomeone wants to sponsor me?? yessir’’.
But I guess I gotta watch the movie to find out lol. I also wanna know the whole Justin betrayed/left EMP**, and Marn helped as well or something (He said something like that on Crosscounter Q&A) or w/e.
Yes they did and we don’t know the full story unless said players come out an speak. In the movie a couple did… yet when you watch it and i hope you do you most likely will lean toward the side of seeing him as i stated in my previous post before it was interrupted by the guy im about to reply to.
No I am also speaking on your post before that replyin to my point on the film which is the topic of the thread… i could be a asshole an ban you for being off topic and posting something not even part of the topic… but thats me i guess right?
yeah, I think it’s pretty clear that as far as building player skill, EMP was doing SOMETHING (or a lot of things) right. As far as financials though, that’s where things get foggy, and like Koop said, you can’t fully know without either talking directly to more members or having been there yourself. I don’t think anyone can deny TF’s lack of business knowledge though. And i’m not trying to put that out as an insult, if he was able to put together those sponsorships and stuff, obviously he taught himself a lot along the way. But it was all built on a weak foundation, and whether it was lack of knowledge, shadiness or both EMP just didn’t have it’s stuff together business wise. If he had recruited a team of cats that were as passionate and smart about building business as the players were about their game, EMP could have been a force to be reckoned with!
I can agree fully with Eric GGMusic BUT… you really need to see the facebook post, no really. Sure some people, like dana white can go into meetings with Tshirt and jeans cause his nature of power/business revolves around a different atmosphere. I guarantee you if he is meeting with big time marketing people with more power or can create a alliance or business opportunity I bet he will pop on a suit. He WILL blend when needed.
Even in the film there was a moment Justin reiterated the words this community has asked plenty of times: umm why where a NINTENDO power glove to a event where NINTENDO is not involved. Your at a GameStop/Capcom/Namco sponsored event. Present yourself in a manner that will get you what you need. I couldn’t care if you wanted to wear a power glove but this is the fighting game community. Super Mario or Nintendo is not represented like that (sure there is smash) and none of the ARC (from my knowledge) that has the skills and known in the community play something involving his love for nintendo. Please remember he stood outside a venue a week or more for a release of somenintendo ds
As stated by manman I believe, I respect the push to try to make something but I don’t think he has a grasp of what it truly takes. And this film only adds on to that. Its really makes him look like he doesn’t have a clue and barely making it. So to us that do know/know of him we’ve seen this for 10+ years… so think on that too.
i hope that video i posted doesnt get me in trouble.i only posted that because of the irony of the moment.
If its the one about him saying the 9 to 5 thing then you showed the outcome… I honestly was waiting for someone to do it cause I damn sure mentioned it a page back (the situation)…
i can see now Triforce really has a lot of haters cause that video Gained 1000+ views when i went to sleep for a few hours
i got a chuckle out of triforce pretending to talk like he knows about the business side of things towards the end when he tries to tell EG saying he is binded to a contract etc… this reminds me of the counterstrike days where one of the managers of the #1 team at the time (NoA*) withheld tournament winnings from his players and then years later attempts to sue the players when they were signed to the biggest gaming organizations at the time in northamerica (team3D miss you guys). its always fun to see uneducated “business” people get educated by those who actually graduated from university. stay in school kiddies.
quick question, is it worth it to pay the $12 for download or shud I just get the on demand? Will I ever want to watch this again/show anyone that doesn’t care too much about fighting games? Also, anyone know when this is coming to itunes and how much itll be then?? thanks!
i think the film shows a lot of controversy and shadyness that goes on in the very young esports / gaming community. imo the film basically showed justin being used , triforce feeling betrayal when he left for EG. triforce felt just because he made justin supposedly vp of emp that he would never leave etc. then followed by triforce trying to make blind threats about obligations and contracts to an educated patron , only to be schooled by that person. id buy it just for entertainment value of seeing triforce pretend that he is educated and knows the legal system , only to end up looking like a fool. just my 2cents.
Yeah, and it’s not even really just the different atmosphere. The thing about Dana White is that the guy KNOWS business, haha. He can roll in there wearing what he wants because he’s succeeded in making a LOT of people a LOT of money. Triforce… has trouble just paying his own light bill. Kinda different situations there.
Yo that part you’re talking about with the power glove, I was laughing my ass off. All of a sudden their roles switched and Justin got raw on him man lol. He was like “what’d I tell you about that…that shit needs to go man!”.
I laughed at that part as well. Justin isn’t as ‘timid’ or ‘silent’ as most think. The young man will speak up when needed. I must say that part that I actually laughed at was the convo between Henry Cen and Triforce at Evo. It was a feeling of he knows he has no way of winning yet mashing anyway.
Again, I would love to hear from players themselves cause I have my own information from some (arturo @seasons beatings, ricky@ Ecc back in the day, justin numerous times) but I will not share because those moments were private when they happened and I am cool with them. I just hope one day they speak on it to enlighten the community.
As I’ve said the film is great… support the guys that made the film. I will be purchasing a Blu Ray version IF released. I’m happy to see documentaries or films on this community be released… being many of us old school players never got our Bang The Machine (ive seen it at evo but would love a hands on copy).
Does that count as redemption at the end when Justin beat Daigo in 1 match of a team tourney? They edited it to make it seem like the finals but wasn’t it actually like game 3 of a 5 game set?
oh yea i also thought the music sucked
that alone made the film worth every penny !
to be honest The movie wasnt really worth the money.it was mostly Triforces movie lol
lol, maybe if he would have talked to Henry BEFORE starting EMP he could have avoided all this…
