Not really feeling Maya after watching how she works. Just seems too complicated a character that I would enjoy using. I bet a good Maya will be fun as shit to watch though.

She reminds me of Ibuki and Ibuki was my main in SF…so Thunder and Maya it is…until I see someone else. I want and need to learn Spinal though, he’s so tricky now!

Thank you. I thought I was tripping :lol: from my quick testing puddle is kinda weak unless I’m missing something. I figured it would give him a make shift dash as well as dodging stuff. Looks limited as it doesn’t have invincibility on start up and is very vulnerable on recovery

Puddle is mostly to make it so he longer gets outzoned by other fireballs.

There might be something neat you can do using it along side the hail… But I’m no glacius player.

Finally updated to the S2 updates yesterday. Man seeing Combo in Training but not being able to play as him or turn the dummy into human is such a tease lol. But I’ll be able to wait it out.

Played a pretty decent combo online and he has some neat stuff. It’s definitely hard to try and figure out his punch level without being able to use him, but I realized his light auto is his backhand special move with LP in the original KI, but the mediums and hards I was getting confused about. I think the hard is the overhead hit he does but not sure.

I like Glacius bouncy ice. It really sets up even more of a barrier for you if you need to try and get in just being able to slide or walk behind the bouncy ice. Really nice. His puddle … I think I didn’t use it other than just seeing how it works and looks. Feels gimmicky a tad but I didn’t spend too much time on it.

I definitely noticed some other changes with him too that I don’t know if they mentioned or not. His Shadow Puddle punch no longer sends them high enough to juggle off of when in a combo. If you hit it as an AA though it does. The last hit of it after a combo simply doesn’t send him high enough to hit with the ice pick.

The other thing I noticed, which might be a global recapture thing, is that if you do an ice pick to juggle after a normal shadow puddle punch, and then do the counter breaker as soon as the pick hits them, Glacius now jumps at the opponent and it does like an ariel counter breaker recapture thing. The problem is, if your opponent doesn’t try to combo break but does a quick stand, you are unsafe after the counter breaker attempt. Previously, you could just do the counter breaker and he would stay back across the screen, and you would be 100% safe. But now you aren’t safe trying to do this.

For what it’s worth no one gets any safe counterbreaks any more. It affects glacius the most, but every one of them got taken out save maybe ones involving Orchids Instinct.

I’ve been wondering about something and some other opinions would be nice.

Would KI benefit from an additional tag mode? (Just as an extra like Mortal Kombat 9 had)
Pair play matches are pretty fun in casual play imo (and have always been underrated imo, be it TTT2 or SFxT or whatever)

To what end though, unlike the previous games, tagging in someone does nothing to extend combos beyond what already existed.

The game’s mechanics just don’t lend themselves well to a tag game really.

I would like to see a resolution boost personally. I know that’s an old hat thing to say, but I think the only reason we haven’t gotten is is because they haven’t had time (fair enough), and it would do wonders for making KI a premier title.

Adam Ismae led to a hint to the resolution boost. I personally don’t care for a resolution boost and would rather more things on the screen in the background…but that’s me.

Adding more detail can only go so far with the resolution limited. Also, the two things aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. But the core game is really good, and that’s what really counts.

Back to the Tag thing. Take a look at other tag games. In MvC3, SFxT, and MK9, the tag mechanic changes how combos and pressure work. In KI the tag wouldn’t affect combos at all due to the KV meter, and given that you can already combo off everything in the game, tagging for hitconfirms ala assists in MvC or general tagging in SFxT wouldn’t be a thing. In short, it would pretty much just be a co-op mode, which while fun, doesn’t really do anything with the tag mechanic.

Man the more I play combo the more I feel like he’s going to be a monster outside of bad matchups. At the sametime I haven’t played a offline session yet sooooo alot of things that appear to be really good online might be trash.

Honestly I haven’t put much time into combo at all, but I can see the potential… I play orchid then spinal most of season 1 but since early access its been all TJ. And why I like maya’s character direction nothing is more satisfying than putting hands on someone.

I understand your whole point of view on the tag thing.
Using two separate KV meters for both characters (That would make the damage output very high, but I’m just throwing idea’s here) could expand the use of tag combos.

It will still be a novelty thing though, so I don’t see it happening tbh but I won’t deny that I would like to see a tag mode

Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way opposed to it. I’m just not sure it adds anything to KI like it does to MK9.
