It’s always good having a new player. You should join official forums too.
Cool.
I FR’d you. I don’t play as much as I used to. But feel free to hit me up.
So i’m going through the tutorial and I realize that the xbox pad fucking sucks for fighters. I wish I could use the ps4 pad
yeah, it’s not that great, but neither that bad. Even justin and grimmz use it and they are top players.
Until they decide to make a cheap stick, the only alternative is modding or cronus max.
I’ve been using the dualshock since the first playstation so after I get used to the button placement I should be good.
I’m stuck with the xbox pad too but i actually managed to clear all the Dojo trials. I have the free version still because I’m broke, so that was at least something to accomplish while I save money for the stick.
I also beat Shadow Jago with the pad because why not lmao.
they had sabrewulf for 1 buck a couple of weeks ago. You should have bought it.
And KI central is giving away shadow jago codes on twitter this week, I believe(dont know how many, maybe just 1, dunno)
If you’re using the XB1 controller for this game, don’t use the d-pad, use the analog stick.
If you’ve been on PS for a while, the D-Pad takes getting used to… but its really pretty decent.
That said… Stick is the way to go.
I was thinking that but I am dead set on the Ultra edition for sure. I just wish Microsoft did a discount during EVO weekend.
Recorded a video of a later part of a set of OGTY vs itsdemonhead in the salty suite. Ill post it later when I find some wifi. Hes also Marvel player so he basically went from one fighting game with small international competition to another. He still needs to work on the combos and combo breaker game, but his shadow counter game is arguably better than most top players. Gamertag is OGTYnet
I did…ok. Lost to cdjr early and then ran it back vs a few people only to barely lose in losers finals vs gnarlyfeats (top florida Orchid player). I knew he had trouble with Glacius so I switched to him, but just didn’t clutch it out. Think I would have had to fight fellow C88 Shinku if I had won that. In any event, I had a great time and learned a lot about the Sadira matchup from cdjr. I admittedly shed a tear also when he held the trophy up on stage. Luckily I had my sunglasses on. Lol
Met Ken Lobb, Buktooth, Torin Rettig and other devs there. Took a picture with Klobb that ill post later also. Definitely excited for what season 2 has to offer especially since they said they may buff Fulgore’s ability to build meter. Apparently J.wong says he thinks Fulgore is the best character in the game. Due to the special cancels and such. Not sure how much I want to believe that, but any buff will help for sure.
Glad we got through all the hatorade and showed that an 8 character game is worthy of being at evo with 338 people entering on the first go. Buktooth told me Maya was inspired by concepts from the game Ninja Masters. Might want to watch some vids of that to get an idea
People were talking shit about him during his match vs kpb. He of course got pissed. Everyone was betting on kpb and I was the only person that put 20 down on rog. Of course rog won and I was happy I made some bucks even tho I wanted kpb to win. I just knew rog had the sabre match studied too well to lose.
Apparently rog talks shit about the game whenever he loses. So there’s that too
Good to see you had fun, DevilJin. Did you managed to play T.J. Combo while you were there? Hopefully when the next EVO comes around, I’ll be able to attend and get some games in against to most dominant players around.
Yeah, I was pretty damn happy when Rico’s Glacius beaten Justin’s Sabrewulf. I thought it was over once Justin had him in the corner, but nope, that sweet comeback happened. For the grand finals, I’m still boggled on why Rico didn’t stick it out with either Thunder, or Fulgore, instead of using the wulf (it’s still a horrible match up for Sadira, but still…). That Jago was random as well, but I’ll just pretend that never happened. Haha!
do you know what was wrong with grimmz? He looked really bad, like he was under heavy pressure. When he lost to mygod, he said something to him, like he was pissed. He may be good, but he is not a tournament beast. I think jago needs a player with strong Sf fundamentals to shine, someone like 2004 valle.
I hope now that the game comes out in japan, ogty can improve and comeback next year. I’m sure japanese players would shadow counter the hell out of usa players, like in the good old days of 3rd strike.
I would say hes a tournament beast. He won both of the biggest majors in Cali back to back. I would also go as far to say that he has some of the best fundamentals in KI. His sfiv play was rather random, but hes rather solid in this game. The problem I feel is sadly, Sabre has better fundamentals and better mix ups than Jago. Better walk speed, much better dash and better crouch normals. Has beefy plus 3 frame traps with his lk normals and overpower and a mix up that just simply surpasses Jagos.
For the guy who’s supposed to be the shoto of the game Jagos movement speed for footsies is pretty bad. I guess this was done on purpose since he has arguably the best frame traps in the game and a safeish low crushing special. Not to mention the most options for manuals. But as long as you’re good with counter breaks and playing games with shadows you can do without lots of manuals. Sabre also has the easiest to execute manual in the game with his chain series that is also very hard to break without getting locked out. Also has the only unreactable medium linker in the game.
Grimmmz was under pressure because mygod is the 2nd best Wulf in the US to Justin and that character is just nutty. Not to take away from mygod’s skill, but the character is just a bit over the top atm. Its very difficult to play efficient footsies with Jago against Sabre and thats simply because Sabre’s footsies are better. Then you have to deal with frame traps and unreactable mix ups when he gets close.
I guess Grimmmz was just frustrated over the loss. Hes usually a pretty nice guy as most Cali players are
Getting blown up by a Sabrewulf will do that to you. I lost my innocence the moment I’ve faced one… ;n;
What is the main site yall use for KI? Also can I get some gamer tags so we can run sets sometime
Used to be ultimateki. Now Iron Galaxy has their own forum that I’ll make a thread for.

Yeah Rico proved that he also one of the best Glacius’ by beating Justin with him. His Jago still needs some work though.
Rico should have just Sabrewulf they whole way through against CDjr. That’s the only character that without a lot of tech and knowledge, can hunt down Sadira. Main thing Sadira has over the other cast other than her instinct unbreakables is her movement. She has better air movement than the entire other cast and even ground movement than most of the other cast. Sabrewulf can easily negate that by just running along the ground faster than she can move in the air. By the time Rico started to get a win with Sabre he was already too far down in the score.
