Killer Instinct XB1: Season 2 hits October 15th. 20 dollars for Combo, 40 dollars for Ultra

Yeah they already packaged Shadow Jago in as an extra character from day one. People would have bitched if his added moveset was one of the 8 characters. That means we’re guaranteed at least 25 characters by the end of Season 3 if they do another 8 for Season 3.

I personally dont think its a big deal who or if everyone gets aerial recapture. If it equates to everyone being able to do more damage off anti airs, I’m all for it. If its just a post opener combo thing, then yeah just keep it to TJ cuz it wouldn’t hugely benefit anyone else.

His offense must be through the roof. I guess having a non shadow move with armor on it with all of his offense is grounds for limiting his defense.

    Will likely have something available for play at EVO.
    There will be a variety of different stages in Season Two.
    TJ Combo doesn’t have an eye patch because he hasn’t quite lost his eye… Yet.
    There could potentially be some dev diaries in the future.
    They are looking at things to adjust from characters in Season One.
    Not sure yet if there will be a Pin Ultimate Edition for Season Two.
    TJ Combo can cancel a Ultra if he has full Instinct.
    Still talking about adding a new announcer, possibly female.
    Recapture is a TJ Combo move, but it may come to other characters as well.
    There will probably be some characters that have unique meter management options, but likely not as radical as Fulgore’s.
    Season Two will bring over another 1000 achievement points.
    Season Two is 100% Microsoft and Iron Galaxy.
    Shadow Jago will be an extra character and not part of the eight characters to be in Season Two.
    There will be new KI merchandise coming in the future.
    Expect a newly designed UI.
    Have some new mechanics in place that they don’t believe has ever been seen in any other fighting game.
    Microsoft and Iron Galaxy will be at EVO. There will be another Killer Instinct panel there like last year.
    Classic costumes will be available for all characters in Season Two.
    Killer Instinct 2 maybe be a bonus for those who purchase the Ultra Edition of Season Two.
    Looking at ways to utilize the extra power of Xbox One following the June SDK update to better the game.
    There will be some good accessory options for TJ.
    Still no confirmation if Mick Gordon will be returning as composer, but to “trust them”. *

I’m assuming Mick Gordon is back since he confirmed on twitter that he worked on the trailer for TJ Combo.
He also worked on the trailers for Phantom Dust and Doom 4.

Yeah he’s a freelance so he works on multiple games at once. Pretty much a shoe in for season 2 so wasn’t worried about him.

After finally watching some of Max’s videos last night about TJ Combo I gotta say that I’m more excited about him now than I was before, now that I understand more about him. It also seems like his interview up there with Keits happened after his “Analysis and Gameplay” video of Combo, which I think he stated in the video happened after day1 of E3 so that makes sense. In that video he didn’t seem to understand why Combo’s auto-doubles were slow and said he hoped they would be sped up, but then he did talk about the auto barrage in the video. Then in the Keits video, Keits talks about the reason it is slower, and that makes total sense now.

I also really like Keit’s attitude towards the game and what he had to say. It really does make me feel better about the direction of where it’s going. Even though I think Divekick is retarded as could be, his passion towards KI seems like it’s going to be good for the game.

Still though I hope this “recapture” thing is Combo specific. The one thing that is awesome about KI (as he mentioned too) is how unique every character is, and how in a game with only 8 characters they have more variety than some games with more than double that.

Now that I think more about “aerial recapture”, doesn’t it remind you of something?

In the TJ combo livestream, one of the devs (I think DJames), mentioned that Jago was given a Windkick recapture and that the idea was scrapped quickly after they found out how strong it was. Now, Orchid is not Jago, and she is considered “low” tier. That’s why i’m on the fence about giving it to her.

Do you guys consider Flik-flak to be a strong tool for Orchid? If not, that could be the perfect aerial-recapture special.

I think if you’re creative about it you can learn to balance anything for one character or a whole roster of characters. I’d like to see them get creative and find a way to get the whole cast to use this. Rather than just slap it on TJ Combo and not do anything else with a system feature they’ve been singularly hyping up. Why tell us about aerial recapture in the new features list if only one character is gonna use it? That’s like listing Fulgore’s devastation beam in the list of new features for his patch. Lol

It’s crazy that Fulgore can get out of Shadow Counters with his Shadow/Plasma Slice. GG’s to my sparring partner, DevilJin.

GG’s bro. Those were some fun matches. Always fun to fight characters like Sadira because you really get to see two very different play styles run at each other.

Yeah the special cancel on shadow counters thing is pretty cool. The one catch to it though, is that it’s not as strong as it seems. People assume they can’t shadow counter Fulgore at all the first time I pull it off, but in reality it’s just that you can’t shadow counter his special moves. Of course Fulgore’s main frame trap is normal into LP laser. If you just shadow counter the normal instead of the laser then you’re good to go.

So basically don’t shadow counter any of Fulgore’s regular special moves and you’ll be fine. You can still shadow counter his normals and shadow moves and it’s still a guaranteed punish (minus instinct cancel).

I haven’t tested, but I bet thunder can shadiw cancel fulgore just fine.

Noted. Like I’ve mentioned before in the PM, I rarely fight any solid Fulgore players up until now, so going up against your’s was intriguing. Good use on the meter, and definitely on the frame traps.

The only trick is to just not shadow counter Fulgore’s regular special moves. He can early cancel before your shadow counter starts into another special.
