Killer Instinct XB1: Season 2 hits October 15th. 20 dollars for Combo, 40 dollars for Ultra

What do you guys think about having a wiki that’s solely focused on the gameplay aspects of Killer Instinct (similar to DreamCancel and Mizuumi)? The wiki will be titled as “The Instinct Mode”, which generally covers KI3’s system mechanics, matchups, character guides (which will feature images of that specific move with hitbox, and will also include frame data and other info), and more. Players with great experience with that specific character can also contribute on what they know as well (because I don’t know all of these characters that well to do so on my own).

That’s not a bad idea at all. Throw up a KI1 section as well, because I would like a nice place to publish this google doc i’m working on :slight_smile:

Although the wiki is solely dedicated on Killer Instinct 2013, it wouldn’t hurt to add KI and KI2 on there as well.

Yeah, this is a team project actually. I just wanted to make a wiki so that we can keep all insightful information within accessible reach, and also so that this can help both novice and experience players get a better understanding of the Killer Instinct system mechanics as well.

Speaking of KI1, has online been added to the Xbone port yet?

Nope. They’ve been saying since months before launch that they would get it in and it’s basically been a whole year since they originally said they would try to fit it in. I guess they’re just going to make Season 2 a priority for now and hopefully add it by early into Season 2’s release. Which knowing these guys, they’re probably already working on KI2 port.

Nice treat for Father’s Day. Beat this guy one time in ranked and he was convinced that I was a rage quitter and could have never gotten to rank 31 in a legit fashion.

During the last match, I thought for sure that he would rage quit (now THAT would have been pure icing on the cake).

LOL you can tell that guy was so salty. He was just mashing the controller while you were combo’ing him after he got locked out.

On another note, I purchased USF4 last night and holy shit, going back to playing SF4 online is a joke. The KI netcode has spoiled me big time. I almost wish I didn’t even spend the $15 on it because I dont’ think I’ll play it much.

Yeah I was watching that guy Tru3talent play on stream from whatever European country he’s from. He can’t even play people in the US because the lag is guaranteed to be terrible and he was still finding laggy connections even with supposed green bar people. Luckily if I do play that game again I’ll be picking up T.Hawk and he doesn’t really require timing sensitivity for his basic stuff.

Yeah I was home last night and watching Arturo’s stream and it just made me want to snag it. I really didn’t want to support Capcom with this game but I just caved :frowning: I bet if I hadn’t had a few drinks in he I wouldn’t have done it as an impulse purchase.

I played it offline at Spring Fighter and sure enough it is worth $15 to upgrade. Just the delayed wakeup alone made the game a little more fast-paced. I didn’t like how SF4 was “setup after a knockdown.”

I dunno… maybe I’m a bit biased because they buffed Fuerte, but I had fun with it.

Its sad that it took that long. Most fighting games only give you hard knockdown setups after a super or something that you can’t just guarantee off every attack. I think they knew the block strings were going to be weak abd just figured combo able hard knock down into safe jump would keep some sort of consistent pressure going. Its just only some characters could actually take advantage of that.

At least now there’s a way to change the way you get up off a hard knockdown since you still are forced to take it off way too many types of hits due to the engine.

But yeah until the game gets good netcode I can’t see myself touching it more than once in a while on the side.

Hopefully CEO is pretty fun to watch. I hear cdjr and kdd are both asking for donations to go. I think MLG is this weekend too.

Paying for players to attend tourneys is funny to me. Isn’t CD Jr. sponsored?

So which characters do you guys think need or don’t need a restand?

To be honest, I feel that T.J. Combo should be the only one to have that trait.

Maaaaaaaybe Orchid… Maybe Spinal? Actually, what I would want for Spinal more than anything would be to make his Skeleport ender do the classic transformation for each character.

That might be hard because they would have to load two character models. On the other hand, the second 3D model is already loaded if you count the opponent. The game would load the model + an ender animation for 5 seconds as if it were a mirror match before reverting back to normal.

If you guys would miss the new Skeleport ender, they could still keep it for Spinal vs. Spinal.

so, It seems we’ll end up with 17 characters by the of season 2. They said in the stream, that shadow jago is not part of Season’s 2 8 characters.
