The promotion ends and they have to explain how everyone else gets Shadow Jago.
@darksakul, yeah something physical would be nice but I’ll like not having to worry about a disc getting scratched and eaten up. Like the whole just having it out there as a digital thing they can just update without going through a disc like LoL.
I’m guessing the Shadow Jago is a play on the Spirit Jago that you could do in Killer Instinct 2.
If you aren’t familiar with this, you could do a move with Jago that would drain like 1/4 or 1/5 of your life (or something like that, I believe it was the amount that you have to have left before the opponent can do an Ultra combo on you) and basically after you died as Jago, the body would remain on the ground but a ghost version of him that was just him but see-through, would get up and you would have that little amount of life left to try and win.
But this was the same exact Jago, nothing special about him I don’t think. I remember most people would do the move after you won the first round, because the animation took quite some time to perform and left you very vulnerable, but if you did it between rounds you were obviously safe.
I’m guessing Shadow Jago is just a play on this mechanic. But I hope it’s not just a Jago clone and is actually somewhat different.
Here’s a video of it in motion for those who weren’t familiar with it.
Alright, I’m starting to get a bad vibe about online mode after watching this video.
So if you notice when he clicks on the XBL option, it simply has Exhibition and Ranked match options. There is nothing about lobby or anything that shows about having more than 1 other player in the room when fighting.
I hope this isn’t something that I’m looking too deep into, but I really hope that there are lobbies with multiple people and winner goes on, where we can watch the matches while waiting our turn.
Unless, there does appear to be a grayed out option under Ranked, and it is hard to make out what it says. It DOES look like it could possibly say “LOBBY” but it is too hard for me to make out.
Upon further review, it does in fact say LOBBY and it can be made out pretty easily when he first goes into that menu. I wonder why it’s grayed out though…
Online modes are great but for now i’ll be happy with Ranked, unranked and excellent online play. I can wait for a patch to add tournament mode, lobbies and such.
The Lobby and such could be disabled as the Xbox one isn’t out yet, that particular server might not be up at this time.
It could also be (I hope is isn’t) that online is a separate purchase item
Just got out of the Microsoft store. There for the last 2 and a half hours and stayed til 15 minutes after they closed. Haven’t had anything to eat since the apple I ate in the morning. I thought about getting something but as soon as I picked up the controller hunger became meaninigless. I was literally hungry for KI.
Of course I was schooling everyone there with Glacius. Setting up walls with the hail holds and such. Managed to land a few shatter unblockabls on people who didn’t jump too much. This one kid I beat on wanted revenge and came back an hour later.
Even met a real life nostalgia warrior who was pissed that Cinder wasn’t in and said the new game would never be as good as the old game. I told him about the new stuff and that the other characters would be coming soon and he started to like it more after.
I’m sure the answer would have been a resounding no and there wouldn’t be anywhere for me to lay it. I’d have to play on the floor.
They say corporate watches what they do at the store from security cameras and won’t even let them show off the Xbox One dashboard there. They got in trouble for loading up the Xbox One dashboard AFTER HOURS. Shit is lock down.
I’ve felt good about the game since inception. It should be what I wanted Skullgirls to be so I’m all for it. Nice mix of fundamentals and combos/experimentation. Should keep both SF and anime/marvel heads hooked. One of the OG players in my area I saw at the mall and even he is scrambling to get an Xbox One on launch. At first he wasn’t a big fan of the auto double system but once he saw the potential damage and resets that could be set up he’s been hooked.
It was funny cuz he asked me at one point “hey that projectile you’re doing with Glacius… does it hit low?” and I’m like “well actually its unblockable” and he flipped out loool.
Best fighting game I’ve played in a long time, period.
