Killer Instinct XB1: Season 2 hits October 15th. 20 dollars for Combo, 40 dollars for Ultra

@jimmy1200 Yeah she has a lot of strengths so far. Buktooth said her ground game isn’t that great as some sort of offset to her, but I dunno. Usually with characters like her in SF style games you get characters like Juri or Ibuki in SFIV that have great tricks and aerial, but at the expense of horridly slow walk speeds and rather cumbersome ground normals. Sadira on the other hand has great walk speed (only Sabrewulf’s may be better), what looked like a pretty solid c.MK and then all of this air mobility on top of that. Her damage seemed kinda weak unless she burned shadow meters, but with how hard she may be to hit that could be offset easily enough with strong play.

She may be one of those characters that needs a stronger achilles heel in the future. She doesn’t have that “gimmick tier” approach that characters like Ibuki and Fuerte usually get thrown into in games like SFIV to offset their movement and mix up. Skisonic said he’s going to be picking up this game and Sadira is exactly his type of character also. He loves those quirky, gimmicky characters and Sadira is basically one of those characters with actual solid approaches.

She seems like the character that every SFIV Ibuki/Fuerte player wishes was their character.

Orchid stage teased…

thanks to Psychojosh on DH forums http://www.doublehelixgames.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-stages-in-todays-stream.2516/

Glacius is one of those characters that will annoy the hell out of newbs/scrubs, but also one of those characters that they won’t be able to pick up easily at all. He has nothing mashy other than ice lance and it’s not a low or an overhead where it can start up canned mix ups. All of his stuff that “spams the screen” is very slow start up and if you don’t use with a deliberate reason, will blow you up. He’s also rather slow which deters newer players/scrubs.

Sabrewulf is pretty much the Wolverine/Rufus of the game and looks to be the best character for newer players to pick up. He has pretty much everything they want. Great walk speed, best dash in the game, teleport dash that sets up canned left/right mix ups like 3S Ibuki, command dash that’s pretty much “press this button, get an overhead, press that button get a low” that’s great for entry level players. No real reliance on zoning or fireball games at lower levels and a quick ass jump that’s perfect for getting around fireballs also. Scrubby Sabre’s will eventually just keep running their face into shit, but average to good Sabre’s will take a long while for Glacius players to figure out I’m sure.

I still think Jago might be the strongest of the characters we’ve seen so far.

The hell is the deal with Sadira spinny shit? Damn Kunimitsu clone over here lol. Think that video highlighted like 5 moves over and over again.

Why?

Are they showing off orchid this weekend too? Seems like it based on the stream comments made, plus the fact that she is even in the build…

Any news of the Madcatz KI sticks or any other Xbox One sticks/Pcbs? Im hoping they release everything during launch, i want my arcade cab KI ready!

Spider girl seems crazy. She seems like a character I will hate fighting.

Without typing a huge wall of text.

It seems like the dude does everything, and does it well too. On top of that, he has lots of safe options other characters lack, and I think his instinct mode is easily the best.

Also, I’ve been thinking about Sadira, she has sketchy ground normals, and no safe ground specials. This really limits her hitconfirm game, and her combo (break) options. The more I think about her, the less uber-powerful and more balance she seems.

Nope, just teased most likely. She’s probably halfway done but like the other teases (Glacius, Thunder, Sadira) she’s nowhere near combat ready. Gotta wait until New York Comic-Con.

I’ve been scouring YouTube & Streams trying to see an instance of someone breaking Sadira’s air combos, with no luck. But I have noticed her jump arc is exactly like Juri’s, quick and sharp. And given the fact that she has a double-jump, wall-jump and a special that works like a midair version of Adon’s Jaguar Tooth, an Anti-Air is gonna be VITAL when it comes to fighting her.

Looks like we got a little more story development here. Rebel Outpost, UltraTech must have some foothold over the world, meaning their plan with Gargos must’ve successed just enough; turning Orchid from Secret Agent to Rebel Leader.

Yeah Sadira seems to have the Juri effect so far. Juri looked OP/broken on paper in SFIV after her reveal, but Capcom took away a few things here and there and then all of a sudden she became a lot more gimmicky and didn’t have the fundamentals needed to regularly compete with the tops.

TBH, even though Buktooth has said her ground game is modest at best, she still has really good walk speed which means it’ll be a step above most SFIV/xT characters that have a similar archetype. It’ll probably start to play out as the game comes out. The game is still vastly untapped since it’s still under development basically.

Yeah Jago looks pretty strong. He’s one of those characters like Ryu where he’ll stay relevant as long as nobody else has some super cheap strategy that becomes common place that he can’t’ utilize. Having a go to overhead that can set up combos puts him a step above Ryu in the mix up department also. Getting free frame advantage boost and health regen as an instinct means he basically gets the rushdown game of Ken whenever he gets instinct up on top of his fundamentals.

It will most likely be a fight between Jago and Sabrewulf so far for best normal/footsie set. Glacius only really having a range advantage normal wise over them and only one normal on the ground that really is super long. With slow walk speed and no ground dash to boot. He better end up like Dormammu where once the car gets started you can’t stop it or he’ll have trouble spacing wise in the long run. Thunder looks like he has some solid ground and air normals and ankle slice is basically an extra long ranged low. His walk speed of course is garbage though so he’s going to have to play more like Alex or a SF2 character to move his way in via specials.

I wish i can process all that stuff when watching a video, the only time i know about a character is when i actually play enough matchups over an over against my character. Im such a slow learner/lazy. Im glad there aren’t that many characters, kind of like Tekken Revolution. I was able to slowly learn each matchup by learning from my mistake.

I played the original KI at the arcades & wasn’t that good at all. My bro though won a lot of tournaments in my area & he’s pretty excited for KI. He hasn’t really game at all in over 15 years so it would be kind of cool playing together again like the old days. Hopefully we have grown up a bit & not end up fighting over “cheap stuff”.

I learned to play Ibuki in 3S mostly by watching Japanese match vids of her. I would download videos onto a CD and play them after school at the library. Youtube was just barely getting started back then and you weren’t going to find a large collection of fighting game videos on youtube then. I guess overtime I just picked up the whole thing Tom Brady style. The other half was by learning frame data and such from another local Ibuki player (Xenozip) who basically just number crunched and strat analyzed fighting games all day. That’s where I picked that up from also.

My brother approaches it differently. Hes more of a combo guy and doesn’t analyze strats too well, but he can figure out how to do a long anime game combo just by looking at a video of it. I have to like ask for notations or play and pause the video over and over just to accidentally be hitting the wrong buttons any ways for a couple hours. He can just look at combos and do them himself soon after. He plays fighting games mostly for the combos and doesn’t really care to play online or offline against anyone unless specifically asked. He just loves training mode.

Good to hear this game will get your brother into games again like old times. Hope to do the same with my bro and hopefully get him good at a SF style game for once. Hopefully the game has a strong tutorial mode so people can at least move in a certain direction with the game’s strats without having to do too much of their own research.

I’ll put the info for buying the MadCatz stick on the title of the forum once it becomes available.

Only thing I hate about the new reveals is that orchid went from having a Latinas body to a white girls body…lack of tits, ass and hips are very unfortunate:(

Well remember, Sadira had a veil, Glacius wasn’t so transparent and Sabretooth wasn’t as textured.

Things can change from teaser to release.

She still has a bigger ass than most of the girls I’ve seen in fighting games. Typical Japanese fighting game girl figure is huge tits, tiny waist and thin ass.

God I can’t wait any longer. Totally maining Sadira, she’s pretty :3

I hope she doesn’t lose dat ass…she was 1 of the few full figured women.

Sold on sadira and sold on orchid although her hips should have been wider and her ass should be fatter and I was hoping she would be slightly darker but whatever. Sold. Let’s go.

Better have some weird ass edm or whatever the hipsters are calling it as her stage music.
