ok. i’m copping an xbox one now in addition to a ps4. i don’t even fuck with glacius like that but i mean…

only makes me anticipate orchid more.

What concerns me the most is how much content is going to be available at launch. If this game is going to be another Skullgirls with only 8 chars. or so to start and have the rest of the game filled in over a year or so, I can wait on the Xbone and go PS4 this fall. This game is literally the only thing making me consider an Xbox before a PlayStation for the first time.

I think they’ll bring that in as it gets closer to completion, another little thing that made these games awesome hearing sabrewulf whine when he’s in a combo.

they’re really doing the game justice as far as the sounds…it has that arcade feel. they’re definitely bringing the screams and all that back…

is it me or did they bring “combo” back on the end of the combos? i’ve been out of the loop for awhile so correct me if i’m wrong. on that note, i hope they reveal tj combo soon.

Go on the Double Helix forums, Facebook, and Twitter to voice your concern. They’re obviously listening to the public’s suggestions with this new build of KI3 and it’s only been a month since E3.

I noticed:

More noticeable blood, and longer standing blood on the ground
Sabrewulf has red blood now
New hit sparks that clutter the screen less (i liked the old ones tho)
Danger instead of Ultra on a flashing red life bar
Better Shadow move effects
New Combo names
Announcer says “Ultraaa Combooo!” instead of “Ultraaaa” & other announcer tweaks
New green barometer system under the combo interface (not sure what it is yet)

I’m going to buy a used XBox One…

I think counter breakers AND combo breakers should cost meter to attempt. If this game is going to be so liberal with how much meter it gives you then give the player more reasons to use it. It would also push players to do the Klobb-style of combo breaking(reaction, not guessing).

Agreed, you can tell Double Helix cares about trying to make this a quality fighting game.

So apparently Counter Breakers have a pretty small window so it will be like throwbreaks in a way. You kinda have to anticipate the break and if you mess up the counter you will drop the combo. Sounds kind of amazing…

They still should cost meter in order to prevent abuse, but I kinda figured that’s how it would work. If your combos are being broken a lot you can bait out a Breaker, then break that and get free reign for huge damage. This just doubles the strategy you have to implement in this game!

And yeah, I’m still hoping Orchid is shown this weekend.

So basically what you’re saying is that you’ve got to anticipate that your opponent is going to anticipate a certain part of your string that and will attempt to break it, then you proceed to counter their break and reset your combo string from the start (although I doubt that your damage scaling also resets since the combo counter doesn’t reset) meaning that you will be able to deal even more damage.
Good god the mindgames that will ensue…

Counter Breaker stuff reminds me a lot of 3S so I’m down. Head games.

Glacius ended up just like I thought he would. Very zoning based but capable up close also. He looks fucking amazing too. Ice all over the place.

The only thing I don’t like is his design. I liked the more sleek look he had before. This new look will take some getting used to.

okay unless it expensive as hell I am not liking these counter combo breakers, Their was already enough stuff to make combo breaker tricky to use with links and mind games, and of course the fear lock out. Now we got something that nulls combo breaker entirely if successful.

I see no reason for counter breaker unless combo breaker needed some type of nerf which i can;'t fathom why.

Game is coming along fine IMO, not keen on Glacius design, but his moves are awesome. This game has convinced me to buy a Xbone down the line. I’m impressed with Double Helix’s work

Since you can whiff a Counter Breaker, it would take the predictability of my opponent & a lot of GUTS on my part to abuse this move.

Keep in mind if I attempt a Counter Breaker, that means I’m willing to interrupt my own combo, forfeit potential damage, and leave myself wide open in hopes that you’ll break my combo in that very moment. If I guess wrong, I’m punished.

Like DevilJin 01 said, its very SFIII’ish which I like. It’s a mechanic for skilled players who love mind games & opens the door for even longer combos based on unique conditions.

Those combos glacius does are so lovely, and look very imposing.

Im surprised there aren’t that many Ki videos from evo showing up, and the time bock for KI on stream tomorrow is only 30 mins… No Madcatz stream… Should’ve went to Evo :frowning:

I really hate they changed it to make him say Ultra Combo. Like 80% of the Hype has been taken from that quote. Whiny fanboys…

Why? Him saying ultra combo is classic, was hype back in the day.
