well it sure looked a hellofa lot more like KI2 with the jago linkers. So hype for this. Been waiting a long time and im not gonna jump the gun and

As for being competitive, its chances were ruined when the game ended as an exclusive on a console that is mostly everything what the TO’s don’t want to deal with.
Add the lack of experience with fighting games by the current developers.

Predictions:
KI3 will be a launch title and/or launch in Q1 2014.
Given the studio involved and that it’s a 2nd party title and judging by the gameplay so far it would be fair to assume that the game will be focused on casuals. Whether or not this means comeback mechanics is anyone’s guess.
Because Microsoft is the publisher there is a fair assumption that the patching process will be relatively quick and painless. But, depending on the direction of the game and how ass it may or may not be and how big the number of FGC players are playing may factor in what kinds of patches we get. The fact that Rich “FilthieRich” Bantegu is working on the game as a community manager may go a ways in favor of competitive play. But, look at Seth Killian being the community manager/tester on Playstation All Stars…
The new Madcatz stick will be a variation on the Tournament Edition 2 arcade stick which goes for about $150. However, because of the new D-pad on the new XBONE controller (and the possibility that they designed the D-pad with KI in mind) and factoring the cost of the console and XBONE Live costs and whatever other hidden costs there may be, it’s a fair assumption that the majority of players will be playing on the controller ala MK9/Injustice.
The fact that the console HAS to be online 24/7 limits the number of venues available for tournament play and would raise the costs of hosting a tournament or flat out limit the number of tournaments for the game. This isn’t even considering if the game is good or not.
First tournament streamed by Spooky: hype match between Ricky Ortiz and Chris G. Someone forgot to disable the Kinect and some schmuck in the audience yells “XBOX TV!” and suddenly we see a re-run of Two and Half Men on the stream. Chris wins by default and FGC conspiracy’s on SRK begin. Spooky is pissed.
Predictions: Double Helix will talk about the awesome AI that they’ve added. The hit-sparks will be so smart they’ll swim away when you get new them.
As much as I REALLY REALLY want this game to be good, I don’t see it ending that way, especially if Microsoft is trying to use it to capture more of the casual market. Hopefully FilthieRich can knock some sense into their heads.

It looks like shit.
So I just googled Double Helix to see what other games they made. All of them are fucking abyssmal. Silent Hill:Homecoming, Battleship, G.I. Joe: rise of the cobra and more pieces of garbage. With such a resume, there is no way in hell this game will be even somewhat decent.
Anyone getting hyped for this should be cautious and have very low expectations. Although you kinda deserve all the dissapointment if you’re stupid enough to even buy the Xbone.
Impossible to tell what the gameplay will be like at this stage. For all we know Combo Breakers will be like MK9.
Damn, I like what I saw so far. All the combo goodness and even the crazy sparks brings back that KI feeling again. The only thing that sucks is Jago’s design its not that great. I hope they don’t go the NRS route and make the girls look like men.
