Know that feel. Urien may beat her in terms of reach, but Karin can still counter-poke him easily because of those hurtboxes. Doesn’t help that st.HK is a slow AA and the only button you have that can fend off crossup j.MK.
lp mp tackle did a lot of work for me in the karin match up, you can punish a lot of her specials if she spaces poorly with it. Trying to poke with f. mp got me swept and pooped on though.
Speaking of getting blown up for trying to poke, necalli standing HK is uh, kind of hard to deal with. If you stick out a button you’re in crush counter city. Again you can whiff punish a lot with target combo into tackle though.

EDIT: Please be aware that using frame-by-frame on 60 FPS footage like this isn’t 100% reliable information. So if I am 1-frame off here and there, it could make this entire post pointless. This is just from what I could tell with a glance.
Using frame-by-frame on Youtube (since the footage is in 60 FPS), there seem to be some nerfs, from what I can tell.
Supposed Nerfs:
cr. HP 8 frames -> 9 frames.
cr. MP 6 frames -> 7 frames.
f. MP 7 frames (?) -> 8 frames (?) - Reason for the ? is because some frame data collection say Urien’s f.MP is 7 frames, but Frame Trapped in-game counts it as 8 frames. So might not be a nerf at all.
Misc:
cr. MK still 9 frames.
Forward dash still 16 frames.
Super startup 6 frames -> 5 frames (?) - Not sure on this one either, still be 6 frames.
If these numbers are correct, then it’s a pretty big nerf to his meaty / counter-hit setups game. Both cr. MP and cr. HP are huge parts of his meaty game in the current un-released state. This means the crouching lights won’t combo into cr. MP anymore on CH, and meaty cr. MP on CH won’t combo into cr. HP anymore.
This also means that st. HK charged won’t link into cr. HP anymore. That is, if they haven’t made any other tweaks or buffs to his frame advantages on hit or block. So there might be a lot more nerfs / buffs that we can’t tell from the trailer footage alone.
So in short; Looking like nerfs, from what I can tell. Let’s wait for release day so we can actually test the frame data ourselves.
Yeah id just wait til he comes out before jumping to conclusions but wouldn’t surprise me if he got nerfed because he is a dlc character.

Yup, either 2 or 3 am I think, I’ve now learnt you just have to add 1 day to any release date if you live in Europe
Prima Guide Frame Data for Urien is out.
Overall, actually quite a few frame-data buffs in it. The biggest one is f. MP is now +2/0 which is pretty amazing.
This just in: hold LP+MK+HP before Urien’s intro starts to select thong mode.

I was bored and made two obvious setups for people mashing 3 frame normals on wakeup. Not optimal combos but eh.
I don’t know how you guys are not freaking over the buffed stHK that now has 7f of startup (down from 9f). Its his best AA for ranges that fMP doesn’t cover.
crHP does have a better reward, but its way slower at 10f and it doesn’t have such a good hitbox, so its riskier. fMP and stHK are going to be his go to AAs.

fMP is really good indeed. But only against jump ins from far far away, for the other jump ins use stHK or crHP if you got a read on it (and its not Ryu with his jiLK).
