Yeah Hugo’s theme was also pretty drum and bassy and definitely a better tune overall. It’s just 3S was a game for me where like even the worse songs were still complete classics for me. Hugo’s was definitely composed and arranged more interestingly for sure.
I remember during old SBO videos when the semi final players would come out to Hugo’s theme with the fake fire blasting in the background, that shit would hype me the fuck up.
Well IIRC Gill does shit on the down low. The “face” of the SS is Urien. Plus he probably deals with his shit personally rsther than through proxies like Gill.
Urien definitely does need a new theme. I never liked either of his themes from SF3. Maybe it was the instrument choice for SF3 soundtrack in general, but I’m not impressed by Urien’s theme at all.
I mean, he’s not gonna GET a new theme. All SF3 characters have gotten remixes of their 3rd strike theme in both SF4 and 5.
BUT, they could expand the theme and make it into an ACTUAL theme. They did the same thing with Karin. Her Alpha 3 theme had pretty much the exact same problem, where the entire song sounded like one long intro that just repeated over and over that never broke out into any kind of melody. But in SF5, that theme has been heavily remixed and is now a real song.
Karin’s A3 theme is sick bro. Prolly the only track I actually like from that game. Took me a while to find the reference to it in SFV theme though.
