Yeah. 3 frame jab hitting crouchers is nice. Makes me wish her crouching fierce did less pushback or was cancellable, though. Jab, strong, hands is a stupidly easy hit confirm, but I wish she had more links to hit a bit harder without charge.
This is one of the things that sucks about the dp nerf, walk jabs into cr.hp dp was doable before

On the bright side at least her frame data is good enough that she’s got multiple combo options. Even if Guile for example had a standing jab of the gods all he’d get out of it is jab jab jab s hp. Decapre could get something as good as s lp cr mp x2 xx ex hands U1 multiple spots.
Interestingly, I managed to unlock USF4 Alt 1 (PC) for Decapre (along with the other new characters). If anyone is interested, PM me (not sure if I can put a link here).

I am still having issues with how to properly use her dive kicks. When I should be using them, how to be safe with the divekick, different button strengths, etc.

I’m not sure if you’re talking about scramble in general or just the dive kick option from it but assuming that you’re strictly talking about the dive kick then:
You can combo from her dive kick depending on where you hit them, dive kick pressure is good if your opponent is retarded or doesn’t have any moves to get you off (ex Decapre, Fuerte, Cody) but it’s kinda like Oni’s slash and it’s gimmicky, she’s actually more oriented around playing footsies with her light daggers. Ex dive kick is plus on block so you can catch people pressing buttons if you do it, obviously you should mix it up with hard break and mp break occasionally but if we’re strictly talking dive kick pressure then ex is the least gimmicky of the bunch. She’s not Cammy though so don’t abuse it.
For dive kick to be safe you want to aim to hit the opponent’s knee or lower. Any higher than that and you can get counter hit easily. It can combo into target combo 2, or cr. jab, etc
With MK Scramble > Dive Kick, any higher than the opponent’s knees means it’s at least -3 on block so you can get throw punished btw.

never scramble if there is time to react. if they are just standing there, walking, looking for it etc. DONT DO IT. ideal times to do it - they are jumping, waking up, recovering from a move, they are trying to bait a button out of you in footsies.
part 2, the closer you are the better. cross up distance is best so they are guessing. mix it up make it hard as fuck to see, right on top of their head.
part 3 start with ex scramble mp -> throw. that is seriously the most annoying shit ever. cross it up if you can. when they learn to deal with that by teching then land with cr lk(+cr lp in case they throw), cr lp, cr mp xx hands for good meter build + potentially safe pushback, or whatever combo you want OR cr lk, frame trap (cr MP and HP even mk all work well buffered into hands if applicable even better is ex air spiral) . to make this more useful space your self far enough away you cant get thrown but close enough you can get a light button in.
part 4 they keep dping you then you feint (either LP or early MP, early MP is really sick). they keep backdashing you start divekicking.
sometimes i just do a divekick to get in instead, to be honest its really not as good other than when you do land it you get much more damage off the combo + also it covers a lot more ground if they happen to be moving around when youre in the air. if they focus it you’re cooked and the mind game is less in your favour by trying to punish with HP break than just going in with MP.
to be honest i use the divekick as more of a movement option rather than to hit, always aim for their toes if i am tryin to hit, and i basically only use EX’s if i plan on hitting, if i am closing space with non ex what i like to do is just mixup divekick and mp break to throw them off spacing and then instantly cr mk xx hands upon landing or just st FP again its 2 different ranges/hitbox areas so you’ve got 4 options just from what ive said there obviously theres way more because you can change scramble strengths, timing of kicks, and buttons upon landing.
one last thing if you land a throw or sweep you can use the HIGH ex divekick to fuck peoples day up, good luck trying to dp that, it will cross up super ambiguous crazy hard to see lots of advantage even on block. wasnt gonna post that tech butt fuck it im not winning any majors ill leave you with that gem on a friday
non ex scramble dive kick is not that great in footsies but it does have a use of beating crMK from a lot of chars, and it goes into big damage on hit.
scramble dive kick as a setup after knockdown is pretty limited, it’s mostly just a meaty and a front side attack (as opposed to ground pound crossup, which is either really easy to see if done really early, or unsafe if done late enough to be ambiguous with dive kick)
and yeah, if they are blocking, a string into ex MK+HK scramble dive, at their head, will hit in front but land behind. pretty easy to react to but annoying to block.

Funny scramble gimmick, if you do either mk or hk scramble without pressing any buttons you can do air spiral arrow if you hold back the instant you take off from the ground and then forward kick when the scramble animation returns to normal, it works best with hk scramble tho since it sends you upwards instead of forward so you have more time to charge. Not really sure how useful it is but you can probably catch someone with it since it’s not exactly expected.
Did this completely by accident but it’s awesome… sharp angle scramble, wait til you fall out of the scramble then start a lk crossup combo
